packman 0 #1 August 1, 2002 I was just wondering if anyone knew if Skydive Indiana was going to open a DZ at a different location or if they were closed for good ? "Trust your Rigger with your Life , but not your Beer or your Wife !"
howardwhite 6 #2 August 2, 2002 I would be idly curious to know. There was a kid at the DZ today -- a Purdue student, who had an A but no logbook with him. I tried to call Skydive Indiana but finally talked to the airport, who said the DZ went out of business. In the end, he couldn't jump, but he's around for the summer so it would be nice if we could verify his status and currency. HW

chicagoskydiver 0 #5 August 2, 2002 A skydiver without his logbook? Every skydiver knows that logbook is like the American Express card...don't leave home (or at least don't go to the DZ) without it! I hope it's not because he lost it...although that is a little inconceivable to me. I'm not too sure where my marriage certificate is, but I know exactly where my log book is!! bananna 0 #6 August 2, 2002 Skydive Indiana is closed for good. The DZO moved to TN with a new job. I am currently Prez of the Purdue Club & can help answer anyones questions. Val was my trusty treasurer, but she had to go off and graduate. Right now, the Purdue club is jumping at Millennium in Kankakee. As for the student, we have an instructor in the club who could verify for who ever needs to know. That really sucks that they didn't get to jump, but I am glad to see that somepeople actually look at log books! Questions about the club can be sent to [email protected] or to me here. (we will all be at Rantoul though, so email won't be checked till after). I hope that helps a bit! Blue skies & Safe Landings, Anna
freefallin14 0 #7 August 2, 2002 What was the student's name? I may have worked with him. I don't think you'll be able to verify his last jump if he lost his logbook or something, the Skydive Indiana computers and their records are probably going to be tough to get ahold of. If he did loose his logbook and you need to know when his last jump was, let me know and I will try to get ahold of Dave Geyer and see if he has any records still. I can say that he hasn't made a jump at Skydive Indiana for at the very least 5 weeks, SI has been closed since then. Bret
howardwhite 6 #8 August 2, 2002 His name is Brian Bedermann (sp). He probably could have made a Level 4 recurrency which he would have to make anyway even if he had a logbook, as he was more than two months out. He's in New Hampshire for the summer for the Campus Crusade for Christ so I suspect he'll be back. If you have info, PM me here or fax to 978-433-8269 (Pepperell, MA) Skydiving Center.
