swarley 0 #1 December 31, 2002 Hi All, FYI i just found a Parachute for flight sim 2002. No, you can't "Freefall", but you can experience Canopy flight at any location in the world. It can be downloaded at http://www.fsfreeware.com/cgi-bin/dcd_a/dcd.cgi?az=search. Just insert "Parachute" in the topic line. Take care and Have fun. skeletor 0 #2 December 31, 2002 Now, if they had a wingsuit, even if it was just a Birdman Classic, I might be interested. Although, it might be fun to fly a Fox 265 around downtown LA..
skyboyblue 0 #3 December 31, 2002 hey swarley, why the heck won't this thing show up when you are choosing an aircraft. I've done everything its says I should do.
Casch 0 #4 December 31, 2002 That's what i call a "Square" PArachute
swarley 0 #5 December 31, 2002 Joel, Did you do this? To install create a folder under the aircraft-folder and name it as you like. Extract ALL files to this new folder. Finally copy the files in the 'myflights' folder into the FS2002/flights/myflights folder It worked fine for me. Under Aircraft it shows up as "Garbers and Beckert" GB-1 Parachute Steve My Site
skyboyblue 0 #6 December 31, 2002 got, not sure what wasn't working the first time. umm, yeah, you can do some really funky shit with that. I think I musta femured pretty bad...you know when the dust cloud(and large chunks of ground!) engulf the canopy. might try a x-country next time.. still think the best skydiving game was that pilotwings for the super nintendo back in 97 or so. Yes, hook turns at 100 ft are fun, after, you can dig yourself out from the turf. It simulates the drop from canopy stalls very well. I never tried "pilotwings" Steve My Site

pilotdave 0 #10 January 6, 2003 I used to have a parachute for FS you could freefall with. Dropping the flaps would "pull." Didn't fly much like a parachute but it was fun. Could even sorta do hook turns. I probably downloaded it from www.flightsim.com. Dave
skyboyblue 0 #11 January 6, 2003 resource name worked for me btw, you'll find one can burst into flames if you hit hard enough. musta been that chili I ate for lunch.
AggieDave 6 #12 January 6, 2003 Its kinda funny that you can hook in. Well, in a morbid sort of humorous way. Too bad you can't get different canopies, get really high performance canopies and swoop a pond, cattle, etc.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." swarley 0 #14 January 6, 2003 Quote Too bad you can't get different canopies, get really high performance canopies and swoop a pond, cattle, etc The Canopy looks square, but it will fly at 60 mph and you can swoop any water /pond in the 2002 scenery. You can also Start from the top of any building. Max altitude to start is 100,000 Ft but no oxygen provided. (I use the e-d 3d glasses and it really enhances the ground effect IMO) My Site
AggieDave 6 #15 January 6, 2003 Quoteno oxygen provided So does the canopy respond like the pilot is hypoxic, does the jumper die or do you have to get really drunk before playing to simulate that too?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Holding your breath from 100,000 ft would be boring plus the scenery is fairly flat. Best to simulate at lower altitudes and get those hook turns out of your system..
