Stacy 0 #27 March 17, 2004 when I moved to FL I only had time to see three apartment complexes before flying back to NJ. One had no apts available, one was gorgeous, etc etc... then I found out I made too much money to live there (biggest joke of the century!). So option 3 it was. That was 2 years ago, I"m still there. It's small, no big perks, etc, but I like the location in reference to my social life and work and maintenance, etc here is pretty phenomenal. I was crazy about the apartment I got in Philly when I lived there. Unfortunately, although the neat apt was cool, the super and his staff were terrible. blah. i'd rather live somewhere drab that things get taken care of. Take it! My first apt living alone was a 16' by 17' studio - Talk about SMALL!! But it was in the area I wanted to live, closer to work & the management was great!! Since then I've lived in 4 other places (5 apts in 6 years), none of them were as well managed as that whole in the wall. I also agree w/ Baa75. And that a year is not very long, if you hate it you could possibly sub lease, but chances are you could stick it out another year. Plus if you dislike it that much, it'll make you get out & do more interesting things than sitting in your apt . Go for it - jump into the commitment w/ 2 feet forward - have fun!! There is no can't.
