mac help needed FAST

hey, i have an ibook and i cant get the cd drive to open. i usually just hold down function and hit the eject key. i restarted and it still wont work! please help!

as a backup, there is usually a little hole on the drive, stick a paperclip in there and it'll pop open.

The Ibook don't need to open just spiits up the disk, so I guess you mean is still inside??? try keeping the eject button press for 3 to 5 sec. I think there is some frecuent questions book that comes with you power book, look for it

the newer ibooks have slot-loading cd-roms, but the older style had a tray. It sounds like the drive in question is tray-loading, and he got it figured out.

note to everyone: no, those little cd's don't work very well in slot-loading drives, hehee. I scared myself the first time i tentatively checked to see if the drive would take it.... spent about 10 minutes getting it out.
