wlie 0 #4 May 29, 2004 eBay and just for you, I specifically narrowed the results to UK availability. My other ride is the relative wind.
Zeemax 0 #5 May 30, 2004 i'm guessing your in the UK as someone mentioned it... You are going to have some problems here.... Apple has some big deal with not selling to other countries. Apple USA and Apple world wide re very different. You cannot buy from any apple store with a UK credit card unless you are physically in the store yourself. They wont ship outside the US They wont ship inside the US if the card is registered outside the US Apple try to stop any of their dealers from doing the same. This is a voice of expereince when i tried to buy an iBook recently. In the end i managed to do a detour while in the states and pick one up from an apple store.Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
OmriMon 0 #6 May 30, 2004 I bought one of the new sytle iPods through amazon.com last year. I ordered it from israel with an Israeli visa card and had it shipped to the US. what made ya choose the mini over the regular one?, they cost just as much if not more than the 15gig version but have 3rd of it's memory capacity.... falxori 0 #7 May 30, 2004 nope i'm in israel my plan was to buy it online and send it to my brother in Raleigh, NC. i was hoping to get it before next week when he's comming here but none of the major stores have it in stock... oh well, i'll either wait or go for another model. thanks for your help O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." falxori 0 #8 May 30, 2004 not sure... i guess i thought it was much bigger but its not problem is there is no end for this. started looking for something in the $150-200 range then figured it would be ok to add $50 for the cool ipod mini, now its another $50 for the 15G ipod... I think if you take a look at what is included with each model (cables, carrying cases, etc) you'll find the mini comes somewhat better equipped. I'm just listening to my 2nd Gen 20gb iPod...I find the extra disk space is very helpful for backing up video, photos, etc, etc.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Windows users have to buy a USB 2 cable to use the 15gb model so the difference is a bit greater if you get them similarly decked out. personally, I would go for the 40gb model...you just can't have enough portable hard drive.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

falxori 0 #17 May 31, 2004 another question... do you have to use itunes to sync it? can you just drag&drop things to and from it? i've read somewhere its a one way street from pc to Ipod and that you cant download things from the ipod to the pc... murrays 0 #18 May 31, 2004 To sync music I think iTunes is necessary. As an external hard drive you can drag and drop. You can't (out of the box) transfer your music to another computer but there are lots of hacks for the Mac so I would expect the same for the Windows world. They are great devices.
