Downsizing on a Javelin Oddyssey J1KL

I am currently flying a 160sqt main, but I am going to downsize my canopy to a Sabre2/Pilot/Saffire2 135 or 139sqt, and I was wondering if I can use my J1KL or do I have to get a smaller rig to fit a 135sqf safely??

Anyone with that combination/ tips??

It'll fit nicely, just don't go much smaller. Shorten the closing loop to the new length and its fine as long as the bulk is distributed correctly.

It will fit great. I jump a Sabre2 135 and it is still a snug fit, I would definately not classify it as loose. I'd have no problem jumping a 120 in my J1.

There is a difference in the J1 container and the J1KL container. The K series containers are a little different. The J1KS is more like the original J1 which is designed for a 150 main. The J1KL is designed for a 150-170 main. I would suggest talking with Sunpath about it or a local rigger who is able to take a look at it.

for what it's worth, i had crossfire2-139 in j1k and it fit just fine. but smaller then that would be loose.
