Brian425 0 #1 January 8, 2005 Anyone have either one? Anyone use them? My wife want to get a GPS for her car. These are the 2 we are considering. The TOM TOM Go is also a 3rd choice. I was hoping to get some 1st hand advice before shelling out 50 jump tickets. Thanks for the help. B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand. Rick 67 #2 January 8, 2005 i recently got the earthmate gps that hooks to my laptop for traveling. it is awesome and only cost me $120.00 if you have a laptop it is the way to go IMOYou can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!
pilotdave 0 #3 January 8, 2005 I also use a GPS with my laptop. It's great for long trips when i'm alone, but I can't really use it if anyone's in the passenger seat. Mine also takes too long to set up before getting on the road to use for most short trips. Dave
freefallfreak 0 #4 January 10, 2005 Garmin 2620 if you can afford to spend $1,200.00 on a toy. I did and it's great. A friend is a truck driver and he swears by it. freefallfreak 0 #6 January 10, 2005 Thanks for the welcome back, Mike. I got a little too weak to jump on here for a while but as of last Monday, I'm now cancer free. I gotta be rechecked in 6 months, tho. Other than that and a tremendous weight loss and no strength, I'm fine, lol. How has everyone been? Getting lots of jumps in? Icon134 0 #8 January 10, 2005 I've got an E-trex Vista C that is great for short trips (the display is a bit small...) but I used it when I was down in Ft Walton Beach for business to get around town. the only problem I've had is that is vibrates in the mount a bit. (otherwise it has auto routing, is waterproof, and has a built in Alti that is only accurate to about +-50ft or so...) it would be nice if it had more memory (but more memory is always better...) genoyamamoto 0 #9 January 10, 2005 I just got the streetpilot 2620 online for a little over $800 (after $100 rebate). It has an intuitive interface that's easy to use. The speaker is integrated into the power cord, which is a bit odd. The volume for voice directions is loud enough to be heard over the radio while driving. Gotta go... plaything needs to spank me Feel the hate... Photos here
mnealtx 0 #10 January 11, 2005 If you've got a palm pilot or pocket pc, there's setups you can get that work through those, too... cheaper and frees up your passenger seat!Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
