skysprite 0 #1 February 2, 2005 Tried google'ing this, but couldn't find anything. I'm looking for a service that will notify friends and family that I have a new email address. Should be simple right? Not for me tonight, can't seem to think how to phrase what I'm looking for. Help?~skysprite
Nightingale 0 #2 February 2, 2005 well, what I did was just transfer my address book to the new email addy, and send out a mass email.
skysprite 0 #3 February 2, 2005 Yeah, I'm kinda thinking that's what I'm going to have to do. My cousin sent an email through a service recently though and of course I deleted the email after I updated the address, and can't remember the name of the service.~skysprite
larsrulz 0 #4 February 2, 2005 Why not ask the cousin what service he/she used? I got a strong urge to fly, but I got no where to fly to. -PF
Nightingale 0 #5 February 2, 2005 they might've used plaxo, but that only works for MS outlook, which I hope you're not using. www.plaxo.com
flyingferret 0 #6 February 2, 2005 Yeah, a lot of people use Plaxo or a similiar PIM or CRM. PIM= Personal INformation Manager CRM=Contact something something Basically, advanced address books, that track birthdays, blah, blah, etc. And also have forms to request updates from users and desemminate updates. Personally, I hate them, and feel like I get spammed all the time, by people asking for my full contact info. Short of if I were a salesguy and needed to press the flesh and make nice, I remember most things for people that I want to be in contact with. But then again I dont have an extensive personal development network either *cough*-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI. CrazyIvan 0 #8 February 2, 2005 Another approach could be joining/creating a GROUP like this, that way ONLY the people you invite and maintain will get the emails.__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.
