yeyo 1 #1 March 12, 2009 Hey u all This was stored in a plastic bag inside a closet for the last 10+ yrs. DOM is October 87. The owner said he did 10 jumps with it. The lines and fabric look and feel like new. All the line attachements and stitchings on the canopy appear to be in perfect condition. My guess is that the canopy has less than 50 jumps. The A lines in the center cell are the thick kind, no cascades. Maybe CREW set up? (see attachements). Brake lines below the cascades are also thick and red. No slider was found in the bag. The reserve was also there. Laser 7. Same DOM. How much is this main worth? If anything... And what were they used for? Students, CREW, accuracy??? BASE training? Were all Laser models 7 cells? Just checking if there are any outs... thanksHISPA #93 DS #419.
matthewcline 0 #2 March 12, 2009 The Laser is a 7 cell as far as I know. We had several Laser's at Benning on the Silver Wings a ways back. The red lines are for CRW and it even looks like a little red smoke stain is in the rest of the lines. The Laser as we used them was for Demo Jumps. matthewcline 0 #4 March 12, 2009 Uh huh. But the Laser 7 is a seven cell. APS made all sorts of variations to the canopies they produced. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
BlindBrick 0 #5 March 12, 2009 I've jumped L7's and 9's for about 120 jumps and have a reserve ride on each type. Lasers are good canopies. Nothing spectacular, but solid workhorse type F1-11 designs. Packing the Laser 9 reserves weirds you out at first though. The first few times you flake one, you'll know you did everything right, but will still be wondering where in the hell the extra liens came from. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." SWATcop 0 #7 March 14, 2009 Most of my student jumps were on Laser 7, 9 and Maverones back in 94. Nothing too impressive but they got the job done.Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #
