AggieDave 6 #1 September 13, 2005 Just recently I've found Hayes Carll and James McMurtry, I feel like I've been missing out. Its odd to me, since I try really hard to keep up with the Texas music scene. What got me with Hayes Carll was his song "Down The Road Tonight" talk about a cool song. Anyone else with me, or atleast know who I'm talking about?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

I do not know much about James, but I like his music........I read today that Gatemouth Brown died yesterday. That sucks. Katrina blew his house away and he died heart broken. Brains 2 #5 September 13, 2005 I have listened to Hays Carll for a little while and my roommate told me about james Mcmurtry not too long ago. He went to a music festival two weeks ago and saw both of them along with CCR, Jack Ingram, Randy Rogers, and several others. Dave, did you ever listen to that CD i gave you? What did you think of it? Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
racer42 0 #6 September 13, 2005 McMurtry is one of my favorites. He has a great song about a familty reunion. KSYM in San Antonio has a couple of shows that feature Texas artists. It's a great little college radio station.L.A.S.T. #24 Co-Founder Biscuit Brothers Freefly Team Electric Toaster #3 Co-Founder Team Non Sequitor Co-Founder Team Happy Sock
AggieDave 6 #7 September 13, 2005 Yeah, that's a good CD. Good sound and a fairly tight band, the song writing is good as well.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Doesn't McMurtry sing the one about Leveland? -- Jason ---- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead.
