Kid_Icarus 0 #1 March 27, 2006 It was a beautiful weekend to go fly a kite here in Utah. Anybody fly trainers? I just got a 2 meter. They're super fun. There's something very relaxing about letting a kite dance in the wind and just watching the wind take it. ________________________________________ "What What..... SpeedRacer 1 #2 March 27, 2006 Haven't flown a kite in years, but I think it would be fun. Do you make your own kites or buy them? Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
Kid_Icarus 0 #3 March 27, 2006 Right now I just buy them. The basic ones are like $15. No frills, just launch and enjoy. The trainers (parachute style) are like $100 ish. Well worht the money. I was bumping end cells with my buddy! ________________________________________ "What What.....
LisaM 0 #4 March 27, 2006 We have a parachute style kite as well as a stunt kite with dual lines. The stunt kite is kind of shaped like a triangle... it's way more twitcy than the parachute kite. Hubby can do fancy turns and buzz the ground with the twitchy one. I'm lucky to keep that one in the air! The parachute one I've thougth abut waitign for that perfect wind to pull me down the taxiway on my blades... or maybe sitting on my son's skateboard would be safer..quicker bailout!. I've been sitting nearly laying down and still being pulled along the ground. Quite fun! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

BirdWoman 0 #12 March 28, 2006 I've got one if Brian Germain's 20 sq. ft. kites. Haven't flown it a lot since I tore my ACL flying it a few years back. Let's just say I wa working on my ground hops when I took it though its power zone in the middle of a gust and, well, let's just say I had enough time while airborne to think about how bad the landing was going to hurt.
