Froggy 0 #5 October 2, 2006 For adware/spyware scan, you might want to download a free AdAware Personal from LavaSoft -- it's one of the best (arguably _the_ best) utility in its class. http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php-------------- We were not born to fly. slotperfect 7 #6 October 2, 2006 I had Norton Internet Security suite for years. I kept it faithfully updated and scanned often. I upgraded my PC to XPand my current version of Norton wouldn't run in XP. I asked around to some knowledgeable friends about what's out there . . . they recommended AVG Free from tht GriSoft website. I installed it and ran it the first time - it caught 19 infected files that Norton had not caught. AVG Free is excellent!Arrive Safely John

popsjumper 2 #8 October 2, 2006 Although it's not free, I use McAfee and the shareware Spybot along with the previously mentioned Adware Personal from Lavasoft on my XP machine. Together, they work well for me.My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus.
