I would also add that while most versions of slinks are reusable, they have a lifetime like any other rig component. Keeping them with the risers, and replacing risers/links at around the 500 jump mark, might be a good idea. Also, regular inspection is required so any unusual wear (say, due to a nicked slider) becomes apparent _before_ problems arise. They are more vulnerable to that sort of wear than hard links are.
