Slappie 9 #4 January 10, 2007 QuoteOnly if your on the campus network. Not necessarily DC++ I use uTorrent & Peer Guardian 2 in conjunction with each other. Not completely fool-proof but it gives me warm fuzzies to know I've got a small amount of protection from RIAA & MPAA. Not that I need it, I just don't want to be drug into a law suit by mistake. DougH 270 #5 January 10, 2007 Ok I will give it a whirl. When I used it in the past I just used the school server, are there public ones that the software finds, or do I have to go out of my way to find them?"The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Slappie 9 #7 January 10, 2007 QuoteOk I will give it a whirl. When I used it in the past I just used the school server, are there public ones that the software finds, or do I have to go out of my way to find them? Sorry I confused you.. DC++ you have to know the servers you want to join. Most of the ones I'm on are invite only. The other alternatives I posted about are a BitTorrent client and an IP Blocker with a updated list of "bad IPs" to block. Best of luck out there... the p2p world is a jungle. If you're carefull and know what you're looking for. You'll be fine. One bad file and you'll be screaming for awhile in pain.
