Weren't they called the "band of thieves" or something like that? It was a small group of men (couple thousand) that were considered lovers that fought incredibly hard on the battle field and wouldn't surrender or retreat so they wouldn't look dishonorable infront of their lovers.

My mind is kind of cloudy right now due to being sick and being on high powered meds, that's the best I can come up with.

I can't remember which battle it was that they were all killed at either.

Yeah, it was just a few thousand men, and they killed a couple-fold more than they had, but they just had no chance because of how much they were outnumbered....

The movie is based on Frank Millers book 300. It's not base upon Gates of Fire. They're just the same subject matter.
March 9th I'm going to see it on IMAX! I can't wait. I haven't looked forward to a movie like this one in awhile.
