How Long Do You Keep Milk?

So, I'm the type that if I smell even a little bit of something amiss with milk, I'll dump it.

My wife on the other hand, would rather taste-test it and I swear even then, she gets it wrong sometimes...

So what about you? You make your own cheese or what?

When I was a labor and delivery nurse, one of the other nurses really was nursing... and she would bring in brownies made with.... yup. Her breast milk.

Don't know how long that would take to go bad... just know that I didn't try any of them.

I dunno, really. It never lasts long enough around me.

That does give me an idea, though...I'll put a 1/2 gallon in the fridge and leave it to see how long it stays before someone throws it out...I'll report back later...probably in about 9 months.

My reality and yours are quite different.

I remember helping to build a lab for the state. One man's job was to let milk products go bad, and then, taste test them. Nasty!

I buy skim. It goes a little less funky past date, and it doesn't go chunky.
