Gave out soup, bread, apples, oranges, bananas, and 1% milk to over 400 homeless men and women. It was the best Valentine's day I've ever spent. It totally, totally, totally makes you realize how trivial our bullshit little problems are. It was 18 degrees last night in NYC (-7c) and with the wind chill, it was -10 (-23c). We were in the mobile food fan, so we drove around the city, stopping at specific points, including outside churches, in Central Park, under overpasses, etc. And the people were so grateful.

Makes you think. I felt really, really good about it. Some other guys and women were also volunteering, including a guy from Morgan Stanley, one from Lehman Bros, some musician from Ireland...

It was the best way to spend the evening, in my opinion. :)

Well, physically, I was alone.

But to make my honey feel like he was a part of my Valentine's Day, I put on a big production as far as breakfast and dinner were concerned. Then I took pictures of it all....and e-mailed them to him.

Then after all the pictures were done, I put the "other" serving in the 'fridge to eat another day!

Great day. Rib Eyes hot off the grill. Steamed asparagus. saute'd mushrooms and garlic. a bottle of Pinot Noir, chocolate coffee eclairs for desert, all spent with my lovely wife. Yea, great day.

I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
