Chris-Ottawa 0 #3 November 23, 2006 Looks cool, more competition. Curious though, in this link, does it not look like the Icarus logo??? Or at least the same design/positioning as Icarus? (Look on the chute in the picture) http://www.cimsa.com/engineering_eras.aspx"When once you have tasted flight..."
dbr171 0 #4 November 23, 2006 Yes, you are absolutely right. Cimsa had designed the Icarus Neos, but PurSang is their own i think... Do you think this canopy could be similar as Neos... Like Icarus Vx and Xaos... I think so...
Travman 6 #5 November 23, 2006 QuotePurSang is the first canopy in the world that incorporates the new Synchronized Inflow Control System SICS® to control the inflation process during deployment. Anyone know what SICS is exactly?

Anyone know what SICS is exactly? From the website... Synchronized Inflow Control System SICS® is a research and development program addressing the control of the inflation process of a highly elliptical ram-air textile wing that will ensure a constant deceleration and always on heading deployment. By synchronizing the inflation sequence during deployment, SICS manages to produce an outstanding rate of on the mark deployments. This innovative system has been introduced in the market in high performance skydiving canopies and allowing for very soft and straight canopy deployments even in very high wing loading conditions. ************ I couldn't copy the picture across but the cell opening configuration looks pretty unusual.*************** Not one shred of evidence supports the theory that life is serious - look at the platypus. dbr171 0 #7 November 24, 2006 I disagree Pursang is the first canopy that incorporates the SICS®. Atair have this system in their canopies... http://www.atairaerodynamics.com/press/multimedia.html there is a promo video in this link that shows a guy opening his parachute in head down. I thing this system is similar as SICS®. 3 stage openings...
