In screenwriting terminology, that line is what is known as the "Theme Stated." It's usually delivered by a character close to the main character of the story in the first act as a challenge or statement about what the main character should do.

In terms of story structure, this movie precisely follows a formula followed by hundreds of films from Star Wars to The Wizard of Oz. Immediately following the Theme Stated, is the Debate, where the main character questions whether or not he can actually live up to the challenge.

In Star Wars the line was given to Luke by Obi Wan, "You must learn the ways of the Force and Become a Jedi." Luke immediately says no; he's in big enough trouble already, but is willing to take Obi Wan to the space port.

In The Wizard of Oz the line is said to Dorothy by Aunt Em, "Just try to find a place where you can stay out of trouble," and Dorothy immediately begins to question whether or not such a place exists when she starts singing Somewhere over the Rainbow.
