I've heard this before but could never authenticate it. Can someone tell if this is true? Back when they were rocking the world, I almost broke my wrists trying to duplicate his percussion licks.

Supposedly it means In the garden of eden but he was so high he couldn't sing it.

I don't believe it to be true though because the rest of the song would sound like that too.

The original lyrics were in fact said to have been spoken...in the garden of eden...but he was so high...he heard inda gada daveden...and it stuck..true. Or so its what I've heard him say b4 when being interviewed on various topics about his career/life.

I've heard the exact same thing, more than once, during interviews with band members.
