LongWayToFall 0 #26 September 28, 2009 What sort of boats are you sailing? It seems that I am drawn to anything involving wind: motorcycles, jumping, sailing, etc. I was a part owner on a hobie 16, and a long while ago my dad owned a tornado with all the race fittings, cats are a blast! shropshire 0 #27 September 28, 2009 0-0-0 BUT, I did get another hour of canopy time in yesterday .... gotta love P.G for quality airtime (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome
LongWayToFall 0 #28 September 28, 2009 I recently did a tandem hang glide, it was very fun, and sort of calming. My experience with canopies has made me want to go with a rigid, rather than ram air wing for soaring. You are crazy!

LongWayToFall 0 #30 September 28, 2009 It is an ocean/cliff soaring location just south of san francisco, called fort funston. The main launch is all hang gliders, but further down you can launch paragliders. Soaring dudes are nuts, they pack their reserves themselves... and get this.... HAND deploy!!! Oh I don't know, kind of sat around May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey

Looks like I owe beer for my first jumps at Byron so now I'll have to return to deliver on this commitment."It's hard to have fun at 4-way unless your whole team gets down to the ground safely to do it again!"--Northern California Skydiving League re USPA Safety Day, March 8, 2014
LongWayToFall 0 #37 September 29, 2009 Nice! I have only done 1 jump there, it was fun though. Where do you normally jump? Is your avatar Davis' pac750?

Yes it was a lot of fun...still getting to know the people and the DZ at Byron but it will be great to jump again there in a week or two. Yes the avatar is the PAC 750 from Skydance where I normally jump...Byron has a PAC 750 as well so that aspect of it is very similar."It's hard to have fun at 4-way unless your whole team gets down to the ground safely to do it again!"--Northern California Skydiving League re USPA Safety Day, March 8, 2014
