councilman24 36 #2 March 28, 2005 There are several available. From the one in Paragear that is just a tube with a slot and a hole, to one with a rachet that Allen Silver sells for several hundred dollars to one made with quik clamps. You have to be very careful with all of these because you can litterally tear a rig apart. A little more description is needed to know what you want. BTW many riggers don't agree with the use of these aids. While some factory riggers use the simpler ones at their demos tha the PIA symposium. Chairman, PIA Rigging CommitteeI'm old for my age. riggerrob 558 #4 March 28, 2005 Positive leverage devices were banned in Canada during the 1970s after too many rigs were damaged. Fortunately packing hooks have taken their place at a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the rig damage. To build your own packing hook, merely slip an old B-12 snap onto your molar strap and loop the strap diagonally over your shoulders so the hook hangs in the middle of your chest. Tie a pull-up cord to the hook and close the rig. If you remove the gate, it is even easier to attach/detach the pull-up cord. One advantage of packing hooks is that they leave both hands free for compressing springs, massaging flaps, temp pins, etc.
