Hearing problems

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've got a prop-dytter externally mounted on a cath helmet.

Sometimes when I'm tracking off at break height, I struggle to hear the second beep ( I know you shouldn't rely on it) , but it does kind of defeat the point as I'm straining to hear it in a track as well as concentrate on my skydive. I've removed the lining inside.
ANyone else have this problem, any fixes ( fitting it internally is not an option in my tight fitting helmet!)

Cheers

I've not had this problem with my Gath. Have you removed the rotatable ear cover from the Gath? Also, note that the speaker for the Pro-Track is slightly off-centre (I'm assuming it's the same for the Pro-Dytter). Make sure that you've not mounted it so that the shell of the helmet is between it and your ear!

I had the same problem, I could not hear my audible
I am hard of hearing and just went back to my visual. Someone here mentioned wearing ear plugs
in freefall and you will hear your audible better. I never tried it because I sold my 4 jump ditter for
$100. I will try it this summer though.

Its mounted correctly, but do you mean the plastic rotarty? If this is the case I haven't as there being 2 ventilation holes in it, I assumed it would be sufficent?
