Does your car cause problems at the most inopportune:S times

So get the family into the car yesterday to go to my Mother in laws for dinner and there is a god awful whining noise.

Of course Christmas day when no place is open till after boxing day Having to go out and get my clutch release bearing replaced :|:D:D

Sounds like a great excuse . . .:D

Seriously, though, what a pain. Sorry your car packed up on you on Christmas.[:/]

My little Ford has 211K miles on the factory clutch. I keep waiting for trouble, but none so far. >>:)

This is the Thing |Folks i get on well with My Mother in law:o i now i now its unheard of :D . hate missing a feed as its always good and looked forward too.

Car still runs but i don't want to do what i did wit my Hyundai Santa Fe last years :| Ran it a bit too long and the Clutch went but took the flywheel with it doubled the repair cost.

thing has a warranty anyway its just i will have to phone and check stuff when all i want to do is put my feet up on the couch with a beer or at the top of a hill had planned to do some sale shopping for a new set of hillwalking boots to go with My new crampons
:D:D

If it's the throw out bearing it's also chewed up the fingers on the pressure plate, so you're looking at a full clutch job; bearing, plate and disc. On the plus side, the flywheel should be fine. BTW, flywheels can be turned, just like brake discs and drums. :)

As i say John its timing more than anything, i missed the one good feed of the year (wife did not get her mums cooking skills but keep that to yourself :D:D)

Most places are closed :o, surprise hopefully they might be open tomorrow. As i say it should be cheaper than the last time i got one replaced when it took out the flywheel :D:D.

So your MIL was already in the car?

Most cars out there now have MIL's built in...
