JovialChris 0 #1 June 21, 2004 Hey, just put my new rig up in the air yesterday. Any different ideas related to UV/Grime protection? Best way to keep the bright "new" look for years to come? JovialChris I'm Lost! Which way to the Prairie?

Amazon 7 #3 June 22, 2004 I used 2 cans of Red top Scotchguard and seems to be working fairly well. Then again.. I have not biffed a landing in it since I got it.. the old rig... well I scotch guareded it and it was in fairly good shape till Lost Prairie last year.. when I rolled out a very fast landing.. under a canopy I probably should not have demoed at that density altitude.. but hey at least Aubrey and the other reps got a good chuckle out of the landing AFTER I stood up. I washed it after I came back .. and all of the grasshopper green gut juice came right out.. .. I had it spring cleaned by the Infinity guys and did not scotchguard it.. and now its kinda green again from the grass after trying out a few old canopys. I decided it was better to PLF than try to stand up as fast as they were coming down. I will Scotchguard it again when I do wash it.
Kris 0 #4 June 22, 2004 ScotchGuard is the key. However, one can should last you a couple of years. The trick is light coats. Put on 2 or 3 light coats, allowing about an hour between each one, then let dry overnight. Heavier coats will just put a lot of residue on your rig.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
