BASE1036 0 #1 November 22, 2005 Today I was approached by one of the Know it Alls at work, and he asked...(in a shitty know it all tone) "Hey I know I had to get a license from the FAA to skydive, but who do you contact for a license to BASE jump? (there is no way in hell this guy has ever made a jump in his life, out of a plane or other) Without missing a step, I looked him dead in the eye, and said...The FCC. To which he replied...Thats what I figured, but just thought Id ask. No moral, just a story..thought it was funny. Send any further applications and your check in the amount of 1000.00 for BASE certification to: Director of Operations Federal Communications Commission C/O DanD Base1036 ............ .;......... .Daniel Protect Yourself and Your Loved Ones Tasers - Pepper Spray - Stun Guns and more! www.dallassecuritysupply.com

BASE1036 0 #5 November 23, 2005 I figured the FCC made sense, since we were jumping from radio communications towers. TomAiello 25 #6 November 23, 2005 Just to clear it up for him, you ought to tell him; The FCC issues licenses, but the NPS issues permits to jump. If you have an NPS permit, you can jump even without the FCC license. It's recommended that you apply for the permit immediately before making a jump on NPS land. The preferred method is to find the nearest ranger, direct him toward your landing area, and tell him that you will be making a jump, as well as your approximate exit time. It's considered good form to land as close as possible to the permitting ranger.-- Tom Aiello [email protected] SnakeRiverBASE.com

badenhop 0 #8 November 23, 2005 Hello, Ten years ago, the CJAA briefly issued BASE licenses. They were accepted by a certain State Park, and just as briefly enabled some jumpers access legally, to El Tippo de Equinos Muerto. The CJAA is El Muerto, but I still have my license. ================================== I've got all I need, Jesus and gravity.
