  1. Understood...and also i dont think sabre1s open to hard i was just stirring the pot..coz that's all anyone seems to believe haha And yeh speedwings are very different...but a stilleto is close as it gets from what i have flown...definitely high performance...but just saying the old sabre1 is a very forgiving canopy when lightly loaded if u fuck up on that then u are doing something really stupid...if someone does dumb shit it doesnt matter what size the canopy is..the person who wrote this original forum post was asking about docile style 150 canopies at lighter wing loadings being high performance...for me there not.... the the sabre1 150 still handles like a mini base canopy..and i cant even stall it on toggles FTMC
  2. To.many beers to think atm....but isnt everyone to scared to jump sabre1s these days anyway lol...they open to hard and people cry. FTMC
  3. Jumps? Lol whats that gonna teach me....and nah im just sayin at my weight of fuck all my sabre 150 is very docile seriously...and i should mention its a sabre1 ......im no professional of any sort..is there any other light people under 60kg who have flown the original sabre in a 150? I would be interested to know what u thought of it And my background is speedwing groundlaunching etc i learnt all my canopy stuff that way before i was ever a skydiver lol Canopies range from stiletto 107 to raven 250.plus speedwing paragliders base canopies etc...... FTMC

Prime example of someone that actually needs an rsl or sos FTMC
  5. Up to now, this had been an excellent and instructive thread. But, I was wondering how many posts it would take before someone said something really dumb. 7 posts. I was stirring the pot a bit if u didn't notice lol...the rest is still relevant..... FTMC
  6. It just comes from people being heavier and coz 150 is highly loaded for them then it must be for everyone lol i flown a 150 sabre im 60kg that shit is definitely not high performance even flying a sabre 135 still feels like the canopy is stoned compared to flying something like a stilleto of similar size FTMC
  7. Sounds cool and my paragliding class was read as much as i could and get someone to push u off a mountain lol...and yeh ive got a few old as parachutes I've acquired just for the sake of having them lol my favourites the paracommander but...i got a old swift five cell today so now i learned about fly away brake lines after going what the fuck is wrong with these brake lines lol its interesting and very peculiar system cunts must have freaked out seeing lines trailing after a reserve ride FTMC
  8. Yeh i love all old parachute related stuff so much interesting history etc and this person selling these old soaring canopies has 64 of them wtf? And yeh i thought these might be pretty much a parachute trimmed differently... i have got a stilleto 135 to soar before but yeh they definitely want to go straight down..... definitely agree about anything like a paraglider needing pg skills...I've had a 14m speedwing collapse from turbulence it sucks and its why full size paragliders scare the shit out of me... FTMC
  9. hey any one got any info on these? they made to actually soar? seems cheap and cool lol http://www.ebay.com/itm/220-Sq-Ft-pink-slope-soaring-parachute/141505395105?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27538%26meid%3Df8b883a744b44ade8dba6fae8237c7c6%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D11353%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D321618003680&rt=nc FTMC
  10. Yeh cool and if used them for skydiving i would get one sewn on for sure..its setup now on a towup cutaway rig has no slider just gets ground towed up and cutaway thats why it has no bumpers etc.. it was a ground launching canopy had mini rings but when i decided to do cutaways etc i changed to the larger 3ring i got them for cheap and as soon as i got them was like wat the fuck is with these risers it was annoying me not knowing lol FTMC
  11. Yeh that's definitely it then and i noticed i have a container here with the reserve risers same thing thanks FTMC
  12. I got some risers a while back large type not mini..and they have no toggle keeper? Dont no wat to call it but the part the top of the toggle goes threw last...it only has velcro and the guide ring thats it. does anyone know how the fuck there meant to work lol? Makes no sence FTMC
  13. I had a old vector that had a name and phone number written in massive letters all along the freebag bridle....wasnt my name or number but must have been one of the last owners (wasnt the owner before me either) that did it lol only found out after i deployed the reserve on the ground for a repack it was written in black marker of somesort and definitely permanent FTMC
  14. Was being sarcastic lol also was more like a year till i could work again and yes it can really fuck someones life up badly getting hurt...i had no insurance etc....not sure anyone insures idiots flying speedwings on the side of a windy cliff anyway FTMC
  15. Back on topic.....another type of person to ask is a base jumper base canopies use the same sorta figure 8 style in a tailpocket...but i dont have enough jumps on mine to notice much wear maybe someone who jumps base alot at terminal etc will know more.... ? Coz they really will keep an eye on there lines more unlike skydivers..well they should anyway lol FTMC
  16. That's why I use Tube Stoes that last for hundreds of jumps, as the locking stows on my semi-stowless bag. Anyway, anyone still have comments on the original topic of line wear with semi-stowless bags, rather then a discussion of choice of bag type? It's like a bag measuring contest in here... So just use tube stows on a normal bag and be done with it lol and yeh way off topic i just started this because someone who doesnt know shit from clay...informed people that all stowless bags actually do have stows/rubber bands when clearly they dont.... the reason his upt bag is called semi stowless is coz it still has rubber band stows and he didn't do research into magnetic bags that have ZERO rubber bands...yes im stirring the pot but i think people should know the proper facts before they make a decision and waste there money only to cry over rubber bands again like there old dbag FTMC
  17. Also worse part of the "semi stowless"(the name sez it all) bag is the first 1 or 2 ruber bands are the worst ones to break lol it sucks if u dont have a rubber band handy or anyone nearby to pass u one u just sit there holding it closed like a fuckwit wondering what to do....also the cunt breaks leaving a tight broken rubber band still hanging on the dbag FTMC
  18. No magnetic bags i have seen ever had rubber bands lol...thats just stupid as 99% of people covert to mag bag coz they hate rubber bands....upt version still sucks if thats the reason u dont like a standard style rubber band dbag? Does it not? FTMC
  19. magnetic dbags dont use rubber bands its one of the best things about them...if u like rubber bands go a normal bag...if u are like most people and hate rubber bands get a magnetic bag i know heaps of people with them who like them....why go semi stowless and still have rubber bands that annoy the shit out of u.....the problem is still there plus u still have to figure 8 the lines etc FTMC
  20. I just recently got a vector didn't bother with the semi stowless as didnt see the point coz it still uses rubber bands so i plan to get a proper magnetic bag in future and fuck off the rubber bands all togther FTMC
  21. Broken ankles cost me nothing in aus....actually got free stainless and titanium....fuckyeh well worth it FTMC
  22. I should have a swift 5cell soon hopefully and yeh from what i hear they suck to land FTMC
  23. Look like one of these were tacked in there i got these off some old risers and they had a knot going threw the risers and these somehow to secure them FTMC
  24. If your looking for a cheap reserve get a raven u can always get them for cheap in very good condition i got one for $75 once that looked brand new... but usually there about $150-300 and what is the dom of the safety star I've always wanted to fly a 5cell for some reason FTMC
