Landing Patterns - altitude to begin each leg
NeonLights replied to vanessalh's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I can't help but think that the reversal hasn't been tried before. just don't make that low turn into the wind. Have no fear! I always make the turn into base a 270, so when i turn on final i am headed back down wind for landing. I usually try to line up on a wind sock or a flag pole too so i have something to aim for! -

I asked Sherry to make me a completely custom suit. I explained what I wanted and she sent me a computer graphic that was even better than I expected. She was extremely helpful and always got back to me immediately. When I received the suit, its quality and attention to detail was awesome. Here is the best part.... My COMPLETELY custom design was at my door in less than 2 weeks!!!! Liquid sky quoted me more money, AND a 6 month lead time. If you want a great suit, with great customer service and low lead time, check out firefly.

Why not buy a new container and reserve and buy a used main and AAD. This is what i did. I got everything i wanted and it cost me less than most used rigs out there.

Outrage Over Skydiving Cat Video
NeonLights replied to Deisel's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had an instructor that told us a story about someone taking a cat up with them and jumping with it. He claimed the cat tracked over to him and latched on. Ended up with huge gashes in his chest. I would like to see the video of that one. -
Probably gonna piss some people off with this, but... With the amazing things going on in modern technology... I don't see why so many people are so impressed with a mechanism that can cut a cable.. Am i missing something?

Ok, alot of great points here. I guess i will work on my belly skills ALONG WITH freeflying. Because i love going fast, and the reason i skydive is for FUN. Can't forget about that. Again, thanks for your input. Young grasshopper is pleased

I am doing just that! If i really want or need advice i use the guys i trust at the local DZ's. However they are also have their opinions and are biased in one way or another. I just figured i would see what the members of dropzone thought of this!

Said people have not jumped with me. They asked when we were organizing loads Or waiting for a load. And jumps 5-42 have all been in the last month and a half. If it is too early, what kind of proficiency on my belly should be accomplished before moving on to freeflying? Thanks for your input!

Hello everybody, i am somewhat new to skydiving. I started AFF over a year ago but only recently got licensed. Im at 42 jumps right now and have about 45 mins in the tunnel. Right now am working on my sitfly. I got fwd, backward, lateral movement and turns down. Getting better at up and down and sit to sit flips. When i have talked to people at my local DZ's though they say that i should not be freeflying and should be on my belly. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this topic... If i am learning fast and being safe, i dont see what is wrong with this. Anyone?

Didn't mean to hurt anyones feelings with the title. I just bought this unit, its a cypres 2. I knew it was coming up on its 4 year, i just wanted to make sure i had ample time to figure out a window i wont be using it. So it looks like my question was answered, thank you all that contributed!

My cypres is coming up on its 4 year conveniently when i am coming up on time off for the holidays. Its supposed to be + or - 3 months, but will it give me an error code when its time or is it at my discretion?

I bought an audible yesterday, and i haven't relied on it for a jump yet except to break off from a tracking formation. However i think its a GREAT tool for newbies. Everytime my pre-pull alarm goes off i am already looking at my wrist mount, but its nice having the peace of mind. I understand the reasoning against new people using them but this is just my thought on it. An extra reminder of alititude can never be a bad thing!

If you are worried about the visor moving on you, maybe check the bonehead revolve. I really like the ratchet locking system on it. No cool guy lenses though, maybe go into a car window tint shop
