Haha @ guy in the window fist pumping. Nice flying though

after AFF, my main focus was acquiring currency, disregarding females.... and of course, spreading the reach of my meth labs to arizona and oregon. i suggest you do the same. as a matter of fact, since you cant think for yourself... you should work for me..

It's not expected. However in any service related industry, if I feel like the people whom I hired are putting in 110%, I like to show my appreciation for their performance. Some work hard, some don't. I got you, and i agree. I just think that the tip does not neccessarily reflect the cost of the tunnel time. The only person i tip large amounts of money for short small amounts of work is my tattoo artist. Because that sh&t is permanent!

Just out of curiosity, why do you have "LiquidSky" written all over it? Velocity and liquid sky offer colab rigs now.
-
Again, "alot of work" is far too much credit for most cases. What other job out there would you expect that kind of tip?? It depends on what you're expecting and what you're getting during that tunnel time. Recently Ive spend 4.5 hours in Ogden, intending to go from no freefly skills to learning hd. The instructors could watch me fumble around and give me a few pointers... that would be them doing their job. However the attention and effort they've been putting into my progression has been outstanding. It's a lot of work on their part. IMO 10-15% is appropriate for tipping in cases when I can't think of any criticisms about the coaching.

Tipping 10% is insane in my honest opinion. With the cost of tunnel time, i already have to save up for what little time i get. If some of you think that because they dont make all that much money, that the students should make up for that... You are dead wrong. It is their JOB. I know all all about feeling under payed, but you make your bed. Lay in it, do not expect someone to conpensate for your shitty pay. And for those that say it is "hard" work, i have a feeling you may not know what hard work really is.

Which downsize first scared you?
NeonLights replied to NeonLights's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
is it the katana at 1.7? -
I am not suprised. When a parachute is packed inside of a rig enclosed by cordura, it tends to stay put....And of stored properly should last a LONG time with no problems.

Which downsize first scared you?
NeonLights replied to NeonLights's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hello! I recently dowsized from 1/1 to about 1.2/1 and i was very nervous for the first jump due to all the hype on downsizing on here. On that first jump i noticed i was moving much faster and turns were much more responsive, but it was in a good way. I was craving a little more speed and snap out of my old canopy. Basically im just curious if and when your downsize actually scared the sh*t out of you. One of my previous instructors said it was when he went down one size AND went fully eliptical. Story time? -
Comments on my Cookie G3 GoPro mount
NeonLights replied to okcorral's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
have you tried holding the gopro in your mouth yet? elminate the zipties and mounts. looks super sleek, and no one knows you're recording. You dont have to ask people if the light is on either. Turn it on, pop it in...shazam -
For custom... Firefly!!!! I had sherry design a completely custom suit for me. I told her what i wanted, and she mad computer graphics to give me a picture to my description. Since it was completely custom, there were a couple things about it i wanted to change when i had it. So i talked to her, and she said they would change what ever i needed. Best customer service out of any of the companies i have dealt with. And best of all...2 week lead time for my suit!!! (I paid 40 doll hairs for rush) Liquid sky suits are nice, but 6 months!?!? I hope you have a suit to wear in the mean time..

Renting aircraft and jumping where you please
NeonLights replied to NeonLights's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ok, did search. No findy. Lets say i have a friend that is a pilot and he is willing to rent an aircraft to fly some friends and i to lets say....vegas. Is it illegal to jump out of it and land where we please? And if so, what are the repercussions? What laws is this breaking? -
If his rig doesnt fit, you should just try to BASE jump a skydiving canopy. Either way produces the same result

i think you've got something here... i would be down to dump a bucket of money in and fly with it.... maybe we can start making this appeal to the rap community and bring in some real $$$

im pretty sure this is the nation wide standard for learning HD in the windy circle room.
-
IFLY; I will take one for the team and give up my backyard. You may build it here, 15 mins from elsinore or perris. All i ask for in return is a statue of me flying head down taking a dock with george washington, and we are to be in party attire. contact my butler to iron out the details.

Tunnel flying vs in the sky
NeonLights replied to NeonLights's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
well i figure learning HD in a small tunnel is better anyway. maybe i can find a tunnel i can barely squeeze my body into. If im already touching all the walls, i cant slam into them very hard.. -
Tunnel flying vs in the sky
NeonLights replied to NeonLights's topic in General Skydiving Discussions

Tunnel flying vs in the sky
NeonLights replied to NeonLights's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yeah, this was at perris. I wont be going there anymore. Im pretty sure they just "upgraded" this thing too. I wish i would have gone somewhere else, probably would have got more out of my time. -
Tunnel flying vs in the sky
NeonLights replied to NeonLights's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ok, so i did my second 15 min session in the tunnel today. I figured out the low speed flying. This tunnels max is 120. Hopefully learning in low speeds will help me in the long run -
Tunnel flying vs in the sky
NeonLights replied to NeonLights's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I will keep that in mind for tommorow. Any other things i should focus on for tunnel flying? And if you dont mind me asking, did you pay for all those hours!? I just bought 35 mins and i have burned through it in 2 days.. I really cant afford to do this all the time. Gonna have to take out a loan and move into a tent at the dz. -
Tunnel flying vs in the sky
NeonLights replied to NeonLights's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have recently started working on freefly in the tunnel. In the sky i can move around in a sit, fwd and backward.. Side to side... Up and down.. Take a dock.. But in the tunnel, i suck! Part of my problem is creating lift, i cant just get into a "neutral" sit position because i am still on the net.. They said it was cranked all the way up, but i really have to put alot of effort into getting up off the net and it feels like i am learning something brand new. Any input? Advice?
