    You're right, too many people are dying because they're jumping out of planes with unsafe gear.

    In fact, there are too many people dying in lots of ways.

    We shouldn't allow skydivers to jump without RSL's, Cypress's and canopies loaded at 1.0+.
    We shouldn't allow people to ride motorcycles.
    We shouldn't allow people to rock climb.
    We shouldn't allow people to climb Mt. Everest.
    We shouldn't allow people to scuba dive.

    Just think of all the lives we could save!

    And if all those motorcyclists, rock climbers, mountain climbers and scuba divers try to ban skydiving - fuck 'em!


    Don't forget skiing and snow boarding.;)

  4. It was about 3 years before someone I knew died; average is about 1+ per year for each year in the sport. I've been in the sport 8 years.

    One friend sold me his old FF suit, my first one (I still have it). Another friend bought one of my Samurai 2nd hand (I sold it to a jumper who sold it to him the following season); later he hooked in on a X-brace.

    I include skydiving friends who died base jumping in the list.

    If you jump regularly, make your way around the boogie circuit, and jump at several DZ's thru a season; you make a lot of friends in the plane and around the bonfire. Eventually you will lose some of those friends or see them seriously injured. You never know who it will be or when it will happen.

    I'm going to drink a beer in their memory. BSBD.[:/]

    Yep. During a haircut, not all guys get the nice boobage rub on a cheek during the shampoo phase. You know where you stand real quick. :)

    The shampoo is the best part... the one aveda salon I went to always had the shampoo and conditioner dispensers placed such that I was always guaranteed of getting the bosum placed on my face.:)

    Here's the detail from DZ.com reports:

    2- AFF Students
    2- Tandem Instructor & Student- Low turn/ Hard Landing
    1- Hard Landing due to canopy stall on final
    3- Canopy Collision on final
    8- Failure to respond to emergency situation and initiate procedures.

    According to what has been reported here, most of these individuals experienced a loss of consciousness or altitude awareness either due to control issues w/ a x-braced canopy, a hard opening, or contact w/ the aircraft after exit. Most of these jumpers also did not have an AAD installed or active during the jump.

    Short story: He claims the US imports 70% of it oil (for transportation) at a cost of $700 billion per year. 22% of electric power generation comes from Natural Gas. His plan is to make that natural gas available for transportation by building wind farms. He claims that would reduce our dependence on foreign oil by 38% ($300 billion).

    Pickens is worth $3 billion and is the chairman of the BP Capital Management hedge fund. He's already heavily invested in natural gas and wind farm infrastructure. He stands to make a lot of money if this plan is implemented. ;)

  20. If you are a fan of Hellboy, you'll like this one, too. I saw the midnight showing and loved it!:)
    There are more and better special effects. The fight scenes are cool and there is plenty of story development of the original character's relationships. I won't spoil anything.

    Hellboy 2 has the same problem as the original; a 1 dimensional villain / threat driving a comic book plot. The villain & plot of Hellboy 2 are a little more subdued. Then again it's hard to top Rasputin and an undead-clockwork-nazi-assassin summoning extra-dimensional evil to annihilate the earth for ultimate power. :D That's so silly...
