  1. 03/04/68.....I'm OLD too!!!! Now, if someone would just tell my mind that Don't sweat the small stuff.....remember, it's all small stuff
  2. Katie: Here is a link for some twisted T-shirts.....apparently your rubber ducky made it onto one. Saw it and just had to post it. http://www.3795.com/trolleyed/5/9/index.htm Don't sweat the small stuff.....remember, it's all small stuff
  3. I've been jumping an ASTRA since starting civilian jumping last year. I have seen the ASTRA save 1 student who did not pull. The reserve fired at approximately 1000 feet. Marana DZ uses ASTRAs on all of it's student's gear. It is a simple operation. The switch is visible. You turn it on before you get in the plane. It calibrates itself and a steady, slow blinking green light indicates that it is armed and cycled. You have to remember to turn it off though. You can turn it off once you are under canopy, on the ground or at the end of the day. I prefer to turn mine off after each jump and turn it back on when I'm chuting up before I get a gear check. The only downside to it, in my mind, is it isn't out of sight like the Cypress. Don't sweat the small stuff.....remember, it's all small stuff
  4. http://www.skydivemarana.com/calendar.html Those of you looking for cheap skydives, check out the $250 for 5 days at Marana and you'll still have time to check out Eloy..it's only about an hour. Just my .02 Don't sweat the small stuff.....remember, it's all small stuff
  5. Over 150 here....best....each and every one that I didn't have to be carted off the DZ by someone else...I'd have to say that the Int'l Military Parachute Competition in RI every year is a blast though...accuracy jumps on -1c's from CH-47 tailgates...and the party afterwards! Worst...Tocumen-Torijos C/N/CE...the tracers sure did add to the ambiance Don't sweat the small stuff.....remember, it's all small stuff
  6. I received all of my training at this DZ. The DZ uses the static line course. The instruction was top rate and focused on safety in the air and under canopy. The prices are some of the lowest around and the Gear/Rigger shop is always available to fix whatever's broken/provide whatever you need. I was at the $99 BOOGIE over Memorial Day weekend and watched a reserve ride early on Saturday. The owner of the DZ had the reserve repacked and the individual jumping within 6 loads of pulling the silver. Not bad service at all. Overall, I feel comfortable jumping there and enjoy the King Air rides to 13.5K. On most loads you are up to altitude in about 13 minutes. A little longer if tandems are getting out at 9.5K. No Boogie fees and the next one is Labor Day Weekend....you can't beat $99 for two days.
