Mitch, I haven't heard anyone ask yet.........Did you get the traditional pie in the face for 100 jumps ?

pies are for 1000's, not 100's

do you have graduation ceremonies for kindergarten?:P

    "cupcaking" is good one though
I guess everyone has thier own ways......Check Parachutist May 2011 ( this month ) page 53 bottom right corner.....last year we even pied a guy, Chris, for his first tandem.......after he had flown 2500 tandem loads, I think he deserved an honerary pieing.

  2. Why don't you just use what most jumpers have used for the last 20 years. Neumann Tackified Skydive Gloves
( Winter Style ) $ 38 @ Square One Parachutes. You wear them in the cold season, then switch to no gloves in the warm season.

  3. Nice formation. I would say though, if you called the base out the door as one point. I only saw two points after that, as the hangers docked and hung, then did it again. Five points most depending on how you call the hangers. Nice though.

  4. Good to hear from you Mum. You've done a great job, obviously, getting your son into freeflying. He is a natural. Since you are part of the family now, we call flat flying "Belly Flying". Welcome to the forums. Come say hi anytime. B|

  5. Best tandem headdown was in the vid by Jimmy H.
" Standard Issue " double headdown tandems in flower exit. Out maybe 10 plus seconds face to face. With the music in the back ground "fuck you I won't do what you tell me, fuck you I won't do what you tell me "......classic.

  7. Wow, the mouth on some Christians. "Whore"...I don't think you'll find that, in reference to Mary Magdalene in the Bible. If you can, let me know, but be specific. Here is a reference more near reality. If you have the time to read the entire page, good. If not, you may be just a little closed minded. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Magdalene I don't think anyone can prove Jesus was married to Mary M., but lots of researchers are interested. Discovery Channel has a few documentories on the subject...example of one...Secrets of Mary Magdalene ( 2006 ) The Dead Sea Scrolls also makes a reference. Again, proving it....impossible.

...like the guy numbering his flaps with a Sharpie a couple weekends ago!?

Hey, it works on reserves, why not the mains?:S

    I am guilty of labeling packing tabs on BASE canopies ( B 1-7, C 1-7, D 1-7 ). It's just easier to realize which one you're grabbing. 1,2,3, right side...5,6,7, left side.....the 4's are down the middle. ( During a Pro Pack )

  9. As Jesus was Jewish. What will happen to God's chosen people ( The Jews ). They aren't Christians. I guess they're all going to Hell.....NO of course they won't. How about Mary Magnalin, Jesus' wife, will she be there ? Yes, as a Jewish man, Jesus was married. Mary Magnalin was also a Desciple. Most people don't know that, and cound not believe it. They only believe the modified, and chosen books of the New Testiment established around 315 AD ( Ano Domini ), by Constintine and associates. They could never include the book by Mary M. of course, no way they would let a Woman be involved.....NO WAY....I do have a religious back ground by the way. 8 yrs @ Lutheran grammer school, 4 yrs. Jesuit High School, and years and years of Church as an adult. I just have a need to understand historical truth.

As far as I know, for medical insurance (not Life insurance), they dont typically ask lifestyle questions (do you skydive etc.). Also, as far as I know, if you are insured, you should be covered regardless of what caused your problem/illness/injury.

Mine specificly list Skydiving,Rock Climbing and Snowmobiling under extreme sports that it WILL NOT cover injuries from. So I tripped and fell down a flight of stairs.

I've heard of sports as basic as high school football not being covered.

  11. What ever happened to common sense ? If you don't leave slack for the pin to clear the closing loop, you will get a pilot chute it tow. It may be the most important part of the pack job. We should know how to create slack on any rig we come across, without arrows pointing the way.

  12. I agree selling any equipment that has a safety issue is unethical ( welcome to America ), but is it true, as I read about the manufacture's inspection of the actual failed Argus, a small ball bearing was found in the cutter area, not allowing the cutter to fully cut. They said that this was foreign material, since there are no ball bearings used in an Argus. If that was true, and if it was a one time incident, Argus could be fine. Meaning people buying at $100 really are getting a good deal.

I had a similar thought, but my idea was that you could put up a whiteboard that was basically a spreadsheet next to the loading area. Jumpers walk up and fill in their name, canopy + wingloading along with the group they are jumping in, for ex:

    | Daless | velo 103 | 2.1 | 4-Hd | SL |
    | Shannon | xfire 119 | 1.2 |4-hd | MF |

Multiply that by 20 jumpers on a load and it's an IQ test .......I know for a fact that I would fail. I'll need to stick with the keep an eye ( both eyes in fact ) on who is around me under canopy. That is " my " only choice. It doesn't matter " to me " who they are.
    ...
    ...

It's a message to other jumpers on the load:
I'm Daless, I jump a velo 103 loaded at 2.1 lbs/sft, I'm on a 4 way head down and I intend to land in the swoop lane.
I'm Shannon, I jump a crossfire 119 loaded at 1.2, I'm on a 4 way head down and I intend to land in the main field.
    etc ....

I think one of the larger benefits of both ideas is it reminds people to spend the time in the loading area thinking about canopy flight. Of course, it also assumes people are actually in the loading area 5 minutes prior to the plane....

  14. I would like to see vids from inside the door, of seperation times on exits. We all have some of those. What's the least amount of time between groups ( or solos ) you have caught on tape ? New thread ?

    poppycock.

I cutaway at 4500 as I "always" open at 5500 and took another 15 second delay while I flew back to the DZ to mitigate risks of probs if my reserve didnt open well or I bust my leg on landing. no stress, it was like a base jump and I was really glad to have my suit on as it gave me so much more time to set myself up for a clean stable over the DZ deployment at a safe 3000 feet. what more could I have asked for?

I'm glad you're OK, but I hope someone got a close-up video of that, It would be the best vid around. Open, cut-away, fly another 1/4 to 1/2 mile, open reserve. Very Cool B|B|
