  1. Obviously, if your landing on someone elses property, ask permission first......or be ready to run away quickly, before the owner can get to his shotgun, or let his Pitbull out after you.

  2. I knew a guy and his wife, who were both deaf. They had a dog who responded to everything they said by their signing. The dog was not deaf. He barked alot, and they always getting him to stop ( I think they could feel the vibrations ). The husband and wife also argued alot. Nothing like a good sign language arguement.

  3. I would think a dealer of jump equipment would want to make it right. If his name or company name got out on this deal, it could keep a small amount of jumpers from buying from him. Losing this profit may not be worth, not helping this buyer. Think how good he would look to future customers if he gave a responce publicly on DZ.com. A refund or maybe, at least " Store Credit ". That's worth more customers heading to his store.

  4. I haven't heard anything about making eye contact from canopy to canopy. I do it with other jumpers all the time, so I know it's not unusual. If you are close, you should be able to see the other jumper look at you often, as you look at them. If you aren't seeing them look, be very cautious and just give them a right of way even if you are the low jumper. Also, example a left hand pattern, don't just look left, left low and left high before making turns. Look right also, often, before making another left turn ( in landing pattern, especially off base leg to final ) swoopers come in fast from nowhere, mostly from the opposite side you are turning into. All of this is for students of course....the rest of us are already doing it..........my 20 cents worth.

  5. Ride your bike, wear your leather, and your dark sunglasses, and pack a large knife on your side........that might even intimidate your future employer enough to give you a raise right off. :P

I forgot to VOTE.......BOOBIES of course.......showing a little of that never hurt in an inteview either.....

  6. If you feel you need to contribute now to your future in jumping, get a wrist Altimeter first. Order it today. Make it your new best friend. Give it a name. It will be your friend for life. Even if you jump naked, your Altimeter will be there for the fun.........Buy an Altimeter NOW.

  7. I'm not trying to say your wrong. I should say I like taking the baggage spot ( the hole ). I bet I've got 50 rides back there and it's very comfortable ( and near the door in case of an emergency exit.) Something tells me we have been on the same plane at the same un-named Drop Zone. Red tail or White tail ?

  8. I've seen that a few times. I usually give them a few tries to see if they can figure it out for themselves, but if they seem really confused or if they continue packing like there's nothing wrong, that's usually the point I wander over and ask if they could use some help.

I saw a very young tandem packer once,( younger than 18 ) looking at the lines on one side ( Pro packing ) You could see he was wondering why they looked like they did. Then he brought the whole bundle up to finish packing, so I stopped him and asked if I could look at it (politely). Sure enough it was a step thru on one side....he had never heard of such a thing. I cleared it for him, did a complete line check, and went on my way. He would have packed it.

  • I have them all. The videos are very fast paced, not staying on any specific point for long. Watch each vid at normal speed first, mostly for audio, then for a better look at specific areas, watch pieces of the vids in slow motion for the techniques.

  • I think SkyBytch has the right idea. Go into this next jump as a "Fun Jump". Let DSE know, right off the bat, that fail or pass today, you would like a nice, relaxing, fun jump. When you exit, put a big smile on your face, good or bad, while doing your practice touches or responding to his hand signals. Being stable is sometimes like Golfing in the beginning. The harder you try, the sloppier you get. The more you relax and forget about the right way to do every little thing, the more natural it becomes. When you get to your 100 th jump......and you will, you'll look back and think, why did I care so much about failure.

  • The first thing I said on this thread is to try to get an engineering ( that includes a design company, they use engineers ) company to look into this. What I got was some, but not all, " it can't be done ". Sure it will need to be tested, sure it'll have to be engineered. But now that us 6 footers ( yes I am one too ) have our rigs we think, why should we keep going on to engineer for Little People. Anything can be engineered. That's what engineers do, they wait for people to give them the challenge. What if this Little Person is a millionaire, and money is no object, and she just wants to live life to the fullest. Please, someone fro Performance Design or other aeronotical engineers give us your opinion.

  • You're right of course. A small canopy could NEVER fly with short line....what was I thinking......Oh wait , Luigi flew his 37 with short lines. youtube.com....Luigi's new 37 ft. record......No, not for students, but can it be done ? Stop thinking like a 6 footer.

  • If everyone on earth was 12 ft tall and weighed 400 #. We would still be skydivers. We never would have made such tiny rigs, they just wouldn't work for us. We would still use a general wingloading of 1.1/1 or more. There would still be swoopers and accuracy jumpers, we'd just be 12 ft tall. No problem.....If we were all 4 ft. tall and weighed 50 #, we'd STILL be skydivers, and we would never build such a large rig. There would still be swoopers and accuracy jumpers with a general wingloading of 1.1/1 or more. It's just a matter of building this young lady a rig, that works for her.....and other little people........I'm waiting for the first little person two way dock. Who knows where it will go from there.

  • Thanks Dragon 2 for your input, I was just brainstorming. I'm not an aeronautical engineer like you. That's why I suggested REAL designers like PD. BASE canopies are properly loaded around .75/1. I've never seen one just collapse like you have, as you say. Wow you jumped at .45, at your weight of 188 lbs, that - 417 sg. ft. canopy must have been fun. What is the reason to jump such a Monster solo ? And 40 times.
