I still have mine in the garage. I did a lot of jumps on it, initially with a hydraulic reefing system and later with one of the first sliders ever made.

I jumped one in MA and also jumped with Dean in the really tight urban DZ in Delray. I remember a neat bar a few blocks from the DZ.

Shawanga was the name of a DZ not so far from the Ranch where the runway went distinctly downhill, so you lost sight of the plane as it was taking off. That's probably where the chant came from..

And don't throw your beer bottles out of the plane, but it's o.k. to throw cans, as long as you're sharing with the pilot.

This is just bad. I met Kevin at an Old Farts reunion and stayed in touch with him. I urged him (now too late) to write again about his many astounding adventures.

A substantial number of these songs came from Orange., MA (my home DZ.) I knew a lot of the people who wrote them and sung them at the famous Inn at Orange.
I'd really like to figure out how to preserve of these memories. Except maybe at Lost Prairie, skydivers don't to sing anymore.

I have talked with both Laura Sharp at Parachutist and the Blue Skies folks about a story on songs over the years but they seem to balk at "Francine McFilthy, the Skydiving Whore," and a serious sociology story, "The Cock Choir."
