  1. EVERY professional out there that has stated otherwise is wrong, the quoted bill information does not exist and you are right.....got it By the way, I never said anything about buying a policy from another company.
  2. We deal with several company's (patients insurers) and all of the information has been consistent. Also, if you read any of the business reports you would know that the insurance companies have already positioned themselves and made sure that the bill is crafted so that they still will make millions.
  3. Perhaps you should just read the post. Since I posted the applicable paragraph directly out of the bill I guess that I have been reading it (up to page 5XX so far) which is probably a lot more than some of congress has that are going to vote on it. Your right though, why should I even consider what the eight doctors in the practice, actuary, attorneys and carriers have to say since according to you we contract with them to tell us what we want to hear and not what we need to know. How about if you Bill and I agree on this, we all agree that something needs to be done. The difference is just what that is. How is that for a start?
  4. Play what ever sophomoric word games you chose. The fact is right now I can transfer my existing employer provided policy to an individual policy with no lapse in coverage. This is not allowed upon passage of the existing proposed bill. This is according to our carrier that addressed this issue two days ago to our group. So go tell them that they will provide it, I need a good laugh.
  5. [ I understand that emotions and confusion are running high with this issue so pardon me if I feel this only contributes to the problem. Our health care system is in what I would call a survival mode in that it can't continue on this path and survive. Don't get me wrong, I have great insurance and really don't want it to change but I see both sides of it on a daily basis and have to deal with the patients, insurers, doctors etc. We need to make changes but I stand by my position that what is proposed is just as bad if not worse than what we have. As with almost anything, there are good proposals and bad within the bill and as I have stated before I think that trying to fix everything at once can only lead to further disaster. This is an issue where calm complete understanding by congress needs to occur before passing any proposed bill.
  6. Bill made a blanket statement of fact that the proposed bill "can't take away your current insurance". That is not true and I stated the part of the bill that addressee it and an example of how the current coverage could be taken away. Also, I never addressed what a new employer would or could do; I stated the inability under the bill to continue the coverage under a private policy which I can do now. So the RED HERRING is back to you for trying to twist what was not said.
  7. Then what you think you know is wrong. Directly from the bill " Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law." Now according to our actuary, attorneys and carrier this means that we no longer will be able to leave this employment and pick up an individual policy to continue the coverage. So yes, this bill will take away the right that I have now to continue my current insurance if I leave here.
  8. You don’t know that! How much do you want to bet that there will be people that lose their currant coverage? We have already been informed by both our actuary and carrier that our plan will change if the present proposed bill is passed. NO ONE can honesty tell you that in the end that they can guarantee that your insurance will be available.
  9. Sorry, I just kind of figured that would follow the impeachment.
  10. I think at this point there is too much damage to recover and he will just become less effective as governor. Resigning would allow the state to recover and move forward.
  11. What his reasons for yelling were are subjective, what the congressman said is not. I see you didn't quote where I said that any of the protest (AKA yelling) in meetings was wrong. I guess that is because it does not support your democrat bashing theory. Keep avoiding the question Bill. YOU are the one throwing out the democrat/republican cards.
  12. Try this, YOU ARE WRONG !. I guess you missed the part where I said “I don't think that the father need to yell”. And let me be very clear here, I don’t think ANY of the protest conducted IN the meetings are appropriate. They are fine outside but the meetings should be for listening to what is said and asking questions. Now, are YOU clear on that? You really need to get over this need to draw lines in the sand and place people on one side or the other just because something doesn't fit or is opposed to YOUR view. My question remains unanswered.
  13. You are breaking nothing so far to me. But hey, knock yourself out with all the wisdom you think you have about people you know nothing about. I will tell you this though; I am a nurse and the business manager for an eight physician practice so please take your best shot at educating me on health care, cost, administration, billing and accountability. I only go to about three meetings a week on this not including seminars, continuing education and symposiums. I absolutely agree and we do need reform but the bill in its present form is not the answer. Congress is moving way to fast and making too many mistakes. They need to slow down. Maybe rather than trying to fix everything at once and making it worse they should take a modular approach by prioritizing and implement a section at a time, work out the issues and then go to the next section. Yeah, our ability to compete has nothing to do with labor cost, government regulations, liability etc. You might want to give that one a second thought. How do you come up with that? 82% of the population has insurance and 76% of those are happy with it. How is that a disaster? Now, do we need to make changes to control rising cost and a mechanism to provide at least basic health care to those who don't have it? Sure we do, but that does not make what we have a disaster.
  14. Are you really that naive? No matter which side prevails, huge contracts will be won by corporations that will make millions. You might think about reading the Aug. 6, 2009 BusinessWeek cover story.......hint, the headline reads "The Health Insurers Have Already Won, How UnitedHealth and rival carriers, maneuvering behind the scenes in Washington, shaped health-care reform for their own benefit "
  15. And the same can be said for the other side that will make hundreds of millions if it does go through. I can tell you this though, any bill that has one group 100% for it and another group 100% against it is probably a bad bill. I guess that one, you did not read my previous response, two, you somehow think he has anything to do with what the congressman said and three, that I waste my time watching him. Other than a link to youtube that my sister sent that I asked a question on another thread, you would be mistaken to think that your reference bears any truth.
  16. What does party affiliation have to do with it? Did someone force the congressman to say what he did? What would you call a congressman who was going to vote on and promoting a bill that he did not know what was in the bill that could change millions of people's lives? Congress already got us over a trillion dollars in debt over a bill that both sides admit that they did not read.
  17. ***See, I guess I saw something that you did not. The congressman stated that there was an amendment that covered his son, there is not. So the question is, did the congressman just lie to try and make the guy happy or is he incompetent for not knowing what is in the bill that he will be voting for that will affect all of us? Are you sure? Show me in the bill where he will receive the same or higher level of care under the proposed bill because I have not found it yet. Okay, you got me on this one because watching her is painful as watching beck and had nothing to do with the point that the video I referenced showing the congressman did not know what was in the bill. I don't think that the father need to yell but it is foolish for you or I to judge him. He like so many people right now are scared and with good reason and sometimes that makes us react differently. It did not look as though he was part of any group or that his concerns were not sincere.
  18. Maybe you should not make false assumptions about someone that you know nothing about!!!
  19. I guess THIS guy forgot that he is supposed to work for the people. What would you do if one of your employees talked to you this way and did not return your phone calls?
  20. Rys? Sorry, had to be said. Oh please Bill, you are starting to sound like my teenage daughter and I send her to her room when she talks like that. You are smart enough to go third party verify it yourself. It was all over CNN and others about three weeks ago. I guess I could play your game and say show me where the democrats have accepted any republican proposals...........please cite the page in the 1018 page proposal that shows that.
  21. I disagree. Congress thinks they are too smart. It is not one party or the other, it IS both. The problem here is that there are two sides that have drawn lines in the sand and are willing to sacrifice all of us for a delusional win.
  22. It is both sides and to think otherwise would be naive. Polosi is however one of the worst.
  23. There have been 37 proposals by the republicans....ALL were rejected without discussion. I also find it telling that one of the 37 proposals that were rejected was that members of congress also be on the democratic proposed plan. So the plan that they want us to have is not good enough for them. I work in the health care profession and I will tell you that what has been proposed is not good for America as a whole.
  24. That is 1,000,000 flights at $500 each. That is not including recurring cost of fuel, flight crews and maintenance. If they want to help the economy, fly commercial and save OUR money.
