A contention is a claim, or belief. Here's an example: The staff and funjumpers of AST contend that Jumpdude is a toolbag who cannot fly stable. Now, a quote would be, Chuck said that Bdashe "is a toolbag who cannot fly stable." If I said that here, it would be a personal attack, like calling others on this forum "liars" and "criminals", and you could quote me. If you merely heard that I had said it, you could contend it in court. The best part is link to the USPA, where people can find a "real place to skydive". I see that only two of your "real" Tennessee dz's are listed. I guess group membership, like AST's doesn't make a dz "real" after all. There is a wealth of dramatic irony in your false representation that the very real dropzone at the Waverly airport doesn't exist to combat the company that it has been contended sells skydives at drop zones that don't exist. It most certainly is bs, chris. I've sold heaps of gift certificates for ASC there is a modest upcharge for full altitude. This is done for sound reason. There is no big plane or weather insurance sold in the ASC call center. Just reasonably priced life changing experiences, from good aircraft on great equipment by top notch staff. Well said sir. Jumpdude sees anything associated with skyride, dz's that accept skyride and the staff(even fun jumpers) as nefarious, and loaded with malicious intent. He is a zealot, with no mandate, nor any interest in promoting, much less protecting the sport. Have you considered the possibility that the website is an adolescent joke? I find what appears to be the posthumous outing of another person offensive. Qualifying skydivers as gay/ not gay is pretty ridiculous as well. It's even less accessible than gay rodeo. (hi Brian). For the record, ASC has a homosexual TI.
