  1. Wait. I'm upset? I thought you guys were upset. I entered this saying the NBPP thing was a non-issue. Arguing on the internets is hard. I quit.
  2. Were you upset when the Minutemen case wasn't pursued? Why are you so upset now? That was my point.
  3. There is a group of people who hate you because you have (I presume) white skin. There are people who hate me because I have brown skin. Is this news to you? It seems that these sort of extremist groups really thrive on the media attention and it seems we've learned that in dealing with other groups. Fox news has other motives in reporting this "story". How many members do they have? How many black people do you really think would join a HATE group that advocates this sort of violence? Why didn't they already join the Nation of Islam? I can find plenty of YouTube videos advocating violence against me because I am a woman or because of my race. Yeah, fine, have a gun, arm yourself. I have a gun too. But not to protect me from white people in the KKK. So what is your point skyrider? What do you want the government to do about this small group of people who are saying mean things about you? What is the ideal out come for you here? You mentioned a no fly list. What else?
  4. http://mediamatters.org/research/201007070020 The Bush administration's Justice Department -- not the Obama administration -- made the decision not to pursue criminal charges against members of the New Black Panther Party for alleged voter intimidation at a polling center in Philadelphia in 2008; The Obama administration successfully obtained default judgment against Samir Shabazz, a member of the New Black Panther Party carrying a nightstick outside the Philadelphia polling center on Election Day 2008; Bonus point from the same link: The Bush administration DOJ chose not to pursue similar charges against members of the Minutemen, one of whom allegedly carried a weapon while harassing Hispanic voters in Arizona in 2006
  5. I fist bumped a black guy at work the other day. It was awesome. True story.
  6. So worked up over nothing. fox news and the right wing media jumped on this because the racial aspect pushes some buttons with their viewers. They are race-baiting: "oooh, the scary angry black people are organizing, there's gonna be a race war and fox news is the only one who cares enough about america to report it." I can't even believe people fall for this shit. Here are some facts and links to help you decide if you really need to arm yourself: The criminal charges against three of the panthers were dropped by BUSH Department of Justice. It seems that the Obama DOJ were just following Bush's lead. http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201007120062 There have been no voters who actually claim to have been intimidated by the Panthers. http://www.myfoxphilly.com/dpp/news/Philly_DA_No_Complaints_About_Black_Panthers_At_Polls A leading conservative Republican on the Civil Rights Commission says the incident is much ado about nothing. http://mediamatters.org/blog/201007060019 And the Philadelphia leader does not even support Obama. On Barack Obama and voting: "He's a puppet on a string. I don't support no black man running for white politics. I will not vote for who will be the next slavemaster." Besides, he added, Obama is "a Negro who doesn't even support reparations for black people in America.
  7. That's the general impression I got from a few videos and skimming the websites. I get the impression that some of them would feel it's not the US but the NWO they would be declaring war on. but, yeah, I don't know the details of their agenda. You'll have to shift through all that bullshit yourself, sorry. edited to add:NWO- new world order
  8. Oh. Wikipedia says they were like a break away group from the nation of islam. But what does that mean? So there are two smaller groups of crazies instead of one smallish group of crazies. Meh. Search for the Militia movement and the american resistance on youtube. The only reason that group has not declared war on the United States is because they think the United States already declared war on them. Some of their members are "POWs" already. These guys (and gals) are pretty out there. Do they have the means to accomplish anything in their war on the United States? I doubt it. I think the FBI will be watching them now. Soon they'll get caught up in something illegal and end up with a few of their own "POWs". I know it only takes one person or one small group to do something like the OKC bombing, but I don't personally find this group more threatening then any of the other extremist groups out there. I don't know. It's a hard topic to debate or discuss much: I am against the new black panther party and all the other racist crazy extremist movements . Well, yeah, so is 99.99% of everyone.
  9. Oh man, don't know how I could forget these guys.
  10. I don't know what a legitimate reply would be, but I'll try anyway.
  11. I'm not sure your information shuts down the argument. These guys (albert et al) contributed (along with a diverse group of environmentalists, engineers, etc) their opinion on the matter. The DOI never intended for them to have final say in the policy. They are incredibly naive if they actually believed they alone were going to define the new policy.
  12. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/falsified b : to represent falsely : misrepresent wow. just wow.
  13. http://www.click2houston.com/news/23833753/detail.html Quote from the article: Arnold said the government did not change he and his colleagues' words, but rather included the current moratorium in an executive summary not reviewed by the group before it was approved by the president and made public. Definition of an executive summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_summary So my understanding is that Arnold and the other oil experts were only one part of the original research, Salazar also had any number of other expert opinions and facts and then came to a conclusion and recommendation in the final executive summary which was presented to President Obama. Arnold does not agree with the final --- so fox "news" concludes that the reports were falsified. Also, maybe I'm missing something, but the actual moratorium does not seem all that different from what Albert et al. recommended. (although in other fox news articles, they claim there is a complete ban on drilling in the gulf, which is simply not true) I really think you need to reconsider your news sources.
  14. "I wonder why that is" Um... because it's not true. Again. Do you honestly not know to be wary of anything reported by Fox "News"?
  15. I'm still trying to find where he has done such a thing. He hasn't done it, he will do it on Memorial Day. Here's a few sources to get you started. I'll post pictures after the fact if you like since I know your sources for information will ignore it. http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/heraldnews/news/2310238,Obama-Lincoln-Cemetery-Memorial-JO052510.article http://thepage.time.com/details-obama-biden-memorial-day-plans-may-27-2010/ http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2010/05/obamas_to_chicago_for_memorial.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/24/obamas-in-chicago-for-mem_n_587848.html http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/05/26/rightwing-memorial-day-attack-on-obama/
