  1. She must be Peggy Hill's much hotter sister!
  2. I am well aware of the shady business practices of skyride, but the simple fact is that the buyer needs to beware. Anybody looking at an online vendor can easily search the Better Business Bureau to find out the reputation of a company. It’s pretty easy to find dirt on skyride without our help. There have already been news exposes that detail skyrides deceptive practices. Who is really to blame here? The company or the saps that buy their Tandem certificates and the dropzones that accept them. Who is feeding the beast?
  3. You can’t afford skydiving. It’s that simple. If you can’t even afford to make monthly payments on a car loan, and you only have $500 to put down for new one, again you need to get your priorities straight.
  4. If you can't expect to get another 1000 miles out of your truck, aren't your priorities just a little out of whack? If I were you, I'd spend the money on a down payment for a new truck before throwing it away on skydiving.
  5. If I were her, I would have at least tried to fight the cancer. Mastectomy (and notice I took the time to spell it correctly) should only be used as a last resort. She went too far too soon, in my opinion. Having a genetic predisposition doesn't dictate the desecration of your body.
  6. The rush wears off after about 40 jumps. I would honestly wait a few years; till you’re more established with college out of the way and a decent paying job to support your new very expensive hobby. There is a lot at stake in this sport. Don’t for a second let others sugar coat the severity of what 1 simple mistake can cost you. Think I’m full of shit? Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciIjdvNo65s&fmt=18 Still wanna fly? If not, run along now skippy!
  7. A lot of the short studio excerpts I've heard actually sound really good, I just can't get into that chorus. I hope the record sounds better when it comes out in September. Edited to add: One thing about Metallica, I always have to listen to their songs at least 10 times before I start to like them. They have a lot of complex changes, so it's not going to grab you the first time you listen to it.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5rFjCR9NeI&eurl=http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=102536&fmt=18 I'm not sure I like this new song or not, it's hard to tell with the mediocre sound quality. Edited to add: OK, here is a way better sounding version, I can actually get into this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfms8L6lK5A&fmt=18
  9. I don't think that is acceptable. It sounded like a threat. I don’t know how much authority the instructors have but don’t you have a right to ground a student if you feel your safety is in jeopardy? I wouldn’t be laughing if someone said that to me. I think if this Jersey boy was as hard as he acted, he would be the one jumping.
  10. Ever noticed how some videos have the "higher quality" option at the bottom of the u-tube video? If you want to watch any video with better video & sound, simply paste &fmt=18 at the end of the address and hit enter. Pretty fucking cool discovery! Enjoy!
  11. I really liked reading your post. It kinda made me think about the old Air Adventures West dropzone in Taft,CA. I had some great times at that place. When they shut down, I went to Perris for a while. I really appreciated the better amenities but eventually realized it was just too serious of a place with all the military groups and RW teams, presumably trying to win the next Olympics or whatever. People were generally very polite to me but not friendly. On my 100th jump, nobody could have given a rats @$$, so I didn’t even bother bringing it up. A few weeks later, I visited CalCity and within an hour of mentioning my 100th skydive, I got nailed with 3 whip cream pies in my face. Getting pied in the face might have pissed off other people, but I can’t tell you how much I appreciated the gesture. I jumped there till they shut down last year and I have been on hiatus from the sport ever since. I definitely understand what you are saying in your post. It seems like you don’t feel like you fit in anymore. I can’t say I blame you. This sport has gotten so much more expensive than it was 5 years ago, it seems the only people who participate are those who are too self-centered to share themselves with others and too important to care either way.
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_tl2Zzzt7M Here's an interesting u-tube vid about a cougar camp for older women who want to date younger men. About 1 min into the video, a girl named Fiona in Los Angeles is profiled who is really hot and says she skydives. Anyone at Perris/Elsinore know this hot mama?
  13. UhhhGG! You weren’t kidding. I just can’t put my finger on it. There is just something really annoying about this song. It just sounds like a bad Top40 song from the 80’s. I think it’s because she moans all the words the entire song. It sounds really gay and annoying.
