The only reason you would have to lie to a doctor is if your insurance policy specifically states skydiving is not covered. Otherwise, it is simply an accident if you get hurt, and you are covered. I told my doctor what happened and ironically her husband was airborne military and she told me how he loved skydiving! Anyway, my xrays and doc visit was covered, no problem at all.

I am forced to have Medicare because no other insurance company will accept me. Ironically, it's not because of the high risk for cancer, but the Cerebral Palsy.....which does not get any worse over time (at least in my case). It limits me from practically nothing. Go figure that one out :S......

You could tell your doctor, honestly, that you just want to be able to be more physically active and that you want to be able to do it without risking additional injury to yourself. That would be honest and I don't see a need to specify that "physically active" mean skydiving in particular. Besides, in reality, I suspect that this kind of physical therapy will be beneficial in many ways and not just for this sport.

I've always said there are 2 people in this world you should never lie too. Your doctor and your lawyer.

many of them (but not all) lie every day of their life :|:S

Would you feel obligated to tell them if the physical therapy was going to help you with a porno role? Tongue

  5. Would you be honest and admit to your doctor that you skydive? As many of you know, I've decided to get my A....however I need to work at more than most. I started going to the gym, but feel this alone is not to make me a fit skydiver. Seeing that I'm taking AFF next season, I have some time. So, I've decided to start physical therapy so that my hamstrings are loose, resulting in a greater range of motion in my legs. I'm going to the doctor today so that he can write me a prescription for the physical therapy so that my insurance will cover the costs. I'm wondering if I should tell him the truth if he asks: "so, why the sudden interest with being in better shape?' I don't want my insurance company to know my intensions because they may cop out. I'm hoping the doc wont even ask, but if he does I think I should just tell him that I simply generally want to be in better shape. Agree, disagree?...Ideas, suggestions?

It's been way to long since we've had a sex poll in the bonfire. How long has it been--3 minutes or so?

Anyway, I ran across this article. Personally, I think an uncircumsized penis is kinda funky looking and less hygenic. Maybe that's why the Brits like it.

Need I say more.....? :P In regards to being more prone to infection, you should just be careful who you sleep with; that should be top priority anyway. I don't believe anybody is in any more danger sleeping with uncut men.

I had ONE VERY CONFIDENTIAL FILE on here and now I'm freaking out

  9. Ok, I wake up this morning, turn on the comp as usual; I go to check my mail, and to my surprise my account is wiped clean! :o:S No e-mail's in my inbox, no contacts in my address book...the account didn't even exist, I have to set it up again [:/] I also noticed my internet connection was acting funky, not wanting to connect, even though all the lights were green as normal. Obviously I can't get back the lost info. But any idea why this happened? I hope it's not a hack....

I suppose some people only like to talk the talk and forget the walking part.

This is my 2nd tandem totaling $500+ over the 2 jump....am I bitching? no... Obviously I'll be a lot happier when I pay 20 bucks to get on the plane and have my own gear......but I learn something even on these tandems......and thats great in my mind.

Don't think that your being an irresponsible parent just because you skydive, because your not! Be a more responsible skydiver because your a good parent.

That is VERY PROFOUND; a quote that I will never forget, and one that I will certainly live by when I have kids

Aren't you glad you didn't 'open your own' shop like you were thinking about? [Wink]

Oh, I'm more than glad brother...I'm greatful.

I knew it wasn't gonna be easy, but damn man, its hell. It be 1 thing if I wasn't trying, but as it stands I'm doing anything I can while still keeping to fair business practices. I really wish I would have listened to all the talks I got about finishing school..............a day late and a dollar short [:/]

Maybe you're right though, maybe I should start selling cars. Although I have a lot to learn; I don't know much about cars.

  21. I haven't had that experience, but certainly see it happening. If things continue to go this way I'd love to do something else, the question is what? Because of a minor disability I can't do much physical labor. I'm not about to lie and cheat people, no matter what.

If anyone needs me, I'll be at the nearest bar...

  22. I'm trying to imagine how it is in other cities in terms of the insurance industry. Here in Chicago, I swear, there's am insurance office on every corner, and no, I'm not kidding. Hell, just between my house and my office a whopping 1.4 miles) there are 4-5 other insurance agencies-1 of them brand spanking new. It is very difficult, if not impossible to make a career here when you're a newbie in the business. I realize it takes time and am not giving up yet, but my company doesn't care; all they want is results at the end of the month. To a certain extent, I understand, after all, business is business. At the same time, I'm busting my ass, doing all and anything I can to make an honest living with no results thus far

I honestly don't get it, anybody I know tells me I'm a "natural" at talking with people. While that is news to me, I do genuinely enjoy being around people-helping is just a nice perk.

I'm just trying to get an idea of how it is in other cities. If the market is not over saturated with as many offices as McDonald s or Burger king I'm moving.....It doesn't matter how far. I've thought about going back to school to finish my criminology degree, but think am simply to old to be going back to school. I need money to live-now.

I have never been more stressed and scared in my life. Stress I can handle; fear of being a failure, despite all efforts, and thus ending up on the street is not my idea of a good time.

    Ok, I'm done bitching now....sorry.
