Well color me confused. You're thread title suggest yet another example of Popo abuse of power and getting outed....

Unless of course, you're somehow bringing attention to the daily heroism that the popo exhibits, yet typically gets no recognition for.

So what's your beef? If you're shooting at the cops while being chased, you should rightly expect to get shot by said cops. Did I miss something?

Actually, that was my comment... he just agreed with me. In actuality, you'd have to be more that a few french fries short of a happy meal to even consider that plan though.

You asked how making it a gun free zone would be different... I was commenting that it wouldn't be a free zone.

Removing the firing pins would reduce / eliminate accidental firings among the masses during handling... Every 3-5 persons present being armed eliminates / reduces nutters trying to shoot the place up. At a minimum it would reduce the casualty count.

The convention will not a 'gun free zone'. If you think there won't be ample LEO presence ready to respond....

So, just to be clear....

1) The 'left' barks about the lack of some 'common sense' safety practices/rules/laws/etc...
2) Responsible folks implement some 'common sense' safety practices (especially since the venue would be a damn fine spot for a nutter lefty to make a point by waltzing in and shooting up the place...)
3) The left barks about the hipocrisy of the previously mentioned folks.

True, but he used rather sadistic tactics to maintain power, and the Iraqi citizens didn't live in anything resembling a 'free' society.

The 2nd provides it's citizens a 'last resort' if you will against the tyranny of govt. An armed populace is a free populace.

The point he was making, and you either missed or refuse to acknowledge, is that the US population IS saved by virtue of our citizens being armed under the 2nd Amendment. A quick look at world history proves the point....

I disagree... I'm pretty sure that ALL of the gun owners I know are in favor of safety education, practice, and 'regulation where it makes sense'. Constant mission creep of regulation hawked as 'common sense approach to gun safety' is really (and rightly so) viewed as mission creep to restrict ownership in general with the ultimate goal of effectively banning firearms. What I find asinine is the assumption that guns kill people and more 'regulation' is needed for the safety of the children.

So how does this equate to a doctor asking my 16 yr old if we have guns in our house... and then me finding it recorded in her medical file???

With the precedent of the "illegal" Katrina gun grab, and even the Canuckians experiencing a similar gun grab recently when the RCMP broke into houses to effect the grab... it's not a big leap Professor.

Of course, it's generally considered "impossible" for TPTB to monitor our emails, tape conversations on cell phones, track our every movement via phone gps, for cops to be able to passively download your contacts/texts/pics/vids/calls history, etc. during a routine traffic stop, etc etc etc.. All of which, btw, are totally possible and happen every f'n day.

Besides all of the above, the FACT that I recently discovered, via online monitoring of my child's medical record, a record of "numerous firearms owned by parents" being listed. WTF?????? It took me 3 attempts to finally get that info removed from her file, as being totally irrelevant to her medical care.

So now is it far fetched?

Maybe I'm just distrusting of the govt... but I'm envisioning Docs being used to audit and record who has firearms in the house, recording an affirmative response in their medical records, thus allowing TPTB to query and know who has a firearm (regardless of it being registered) for when they decide that its in the publics best interest to confiscate them in the event of a natural disaster or something...

Agree.... While I admire and respect his service; awarding him the CMOH under these conditions would, IMHO, be not only disrespectful but also insulting to previous recipients.

No offense, but when I look at my alti, I don't want to have to 'think' about wtf my altitude is. Besides, I don't need another battery sucking device requiring periodic feeding. Night jumps would be "interesting" as well.
