  1. I'm thinking about coming down from the UK for the boogie. Anyone know the best way to get to the dz from Marrakech?
  2. I sent Douva a PM, but haven't heard back. Is skysurf still popular/taught in Europe at all? I spend a lot of the year in the UK and France. Cheers for all the help guys.
  3. Didn't quite know what forum to post this in, but I'm looking for a skysurf instructor in Texas. I've PM'ed a few people and called some dz's, but with no luck. Are there any left in Texas? Thanks
  4. Can't quite afford a box, so was just going to buy a Bonehead L-bracket. Before doing so, just wanted to make sure that the Sony HC-38 will fit properly on a standard L-bracket. Going to then attach it to the side of a Bonehead Allsport and minimize any snag points. Thankyou for and any all help.
  5. Partially because of this incident if I am checking someone that is A-Certificate I don't accept them telling me if their AAD is on. I make them partially de-kit (if need be) and show me. I also won't sign unless they show me that the are fully ready to go. Those are the rules. Sent someone back and wouldn't sign them until they showed me a hook knife on them once. They responded with 'bloody hell'. In the end its their life and my signature.
  6. I am American, but started skydiving and got qualified in the UK. Thus, my FAI Certificate is a British one (the red booklet). Am I locked into a British certificate forever of can I/do i need to switch it to an American one when I move back to the States soon. Don't want to have to keep going back to the UK or finding a BPA CCI to get licenses and stickers signed off. How would one go about getting a conversion? Is it possible to be double liscensed? Would my FAI number change?
  7. It is all used with the main disconnected from the container. Like the idea of 'sporting goods from repair'. Just afraid of getting charged VAT.
  8. Did a search but couldn't find the answer. I need to ship a used rig that I just purchased from the States to the UK. It is currently at my parent's house in the US and they were planning on mailing it to me as a gift. With regards to customs, what is the best way to send it so that I don't have to pay VAT/tax here in the UK when it arrives. Also, any recommendations on the best company to ship with? Thanks
  9. Another good one to check out on skydiving movies is Langar (search for it and go to the first result). Within the between min 1-2 there is a great one by a guy in black. Been trying to replecate it, kinda works.
  10. Does it count as pre-buying if I know that it will be my first jump at a DZ? May as well have it waiting in the car when jumping finishes, eh?
  11. Finished my consols and all and actually have the A-Certificate booklet thing. I don't really need to worry about rigs and reserves as I didn't bring one with me, everything but. Just want to double check as well, first jump at a new drop zone is a case of beer is it not?
  12. Hello, I recenty got my A Certificate in the UK and have only jumped there. Coming home to the States (Texas) for Christmas, I can't really go two weeks without jumping, esp. in a warmer cilmate. Are there any rules that I need to be aware of that apply to the States that don't exist in the UK and vice-versa? I know that some of it may be covered in a dz brief, but to cover all my bases. Thanks.
  13. With regards to open face, would you go with a Velocity, an Ion, or a Bonehead All-Sport. All within the same price range and all recieving good ratings on dz.com. Thoughts?
