Remember I am not a jumper but the things I am going to say come from unrelated skyjack conversations in the past with Duane and/or something he did under another circumstance. 1. In one conversation he talked about how to tie a package to one's self without fear of loosing it in "water"...he showed me a knot that was used that would allow you to release the package so it would not pull you under and yet keep it close enough for maneuvering and that properly encased also lent itself as a buoy. 2. He would have tied the package to himself in this manner - he was a master of knots. Close enough to hold, but able to release if necessary. He would have had another wrapper for the package (probably waterproof) that would have fit easily in the briefcase. He would not leave the briefcase -he was too careful of prints to allow that. A fact that may substantiate the other unusual clip in his belongings - remember that I describe two items. 3. How he exited the plane? - this I know because of two reasons: Experiments with the Boeing (which Duane was aware of - remember Duane's brother was a consultant for the army for Boeing) was to back down the aftstairs to the very end and to drop off. Packages were dropped in this manner - they were not pitched out but slid down the aftstairs and then release. The other reason is the Dream - he was reaching out with one hand upward as if to grasp...but it was just a dream and only my word. 4. He was very good at putting things in small packages - I am sure he utilized everything he took and what was available. He would have quessed they might not deliver the package as requested. One he would have utilized that dummy pack for parts or had clips with him or removed them from the other chute to secure it to himself. The money he pulled out to give Tina - he would have stuffed in his pockets and would have stuffed other pockets also...hence why some of the money was found if he did not put it there himself in 1979. 5. There were two different types of container after he died. One I still have - is a flat dark tan heavy bag about 12 x 9 with a spring like closure - what I thought to be used by a clerk to take money to a bank from a business. The other one was a small canvas bag with a handle and could be collapsed to almost nothing (had leather straps for attaching to something else...A very sturdy bag.)I mentioned these to the FBI yrs ago. Both bags would have fit inside of the briefcase behind the upper flap and would not have been seen. 6. I have asked the FBI if they had the cords that were cut - if so I have the knife that would have been use. Can't they match cut ends of cords with the knife that cut them? IF this is true - then why did they contact me in 2003 for Duane's DNA. and then DID not test that DNA until Nov. of 2006 - only after I contacted your office regarding a covert action I had been made aware of.... I understand that Multiple DNA was extracted from a mis-handled tie. The fact that the cigarette butts have been missing since 2003 onlysubstantiates the possiblility the tie was not kept in a manner that would make the DNA evidence valid...in fact....I am being to believe that the tie you have may not be the original tie. If someone was negligent enough to allow the cigarette butts to disappear - might they also have lost the tie and replaced it with a substitute. The butts they couldn't replace - so they just hoped no one would ever notice. If the evidence was handled properly as required by law then the cigarrette butts would also be there and you would know exactly who lost them and when. Until you can publicly announce what happened to the evidence and produce the cigarette butts then you cannot publicly state that the DNA rules out Duane L. Weber. All you do is cause someone who may have known him or suspect him to continue to stay silent. The FBI does NOT intend to solve this case - if they did they would have investigated Duane's past more. I know that not all agree with me that Duane was Cooper - but I know he was. If the FBI would contact me and really listen to me -- they might find the clues that will lead them to their answers. Not all do I tell in the forum - when it involves other people from Duane's past. I have told the FBI and others over and over: Duane was desperate - a man diagnosed with a disease that was considered to be fatal at that time and with a painful life on rudimentary dialysis. He did not want to die the way his mother did - and he made his choice --- his one last chance to prove he was not a Mouse or a misfit who had to live up to the image of his brother. Duane had access to the schematics of the Boeing 727 and what they could and could not do. Do I have to shout this from the Front Page of NewsWeek? I have tried to tell the FBI about how he may have learned to skyjump...if not in the service. 1. In the service (legally or illegally) - replacing someone else before going over. 2. A friend and family member in Colorado. 3. A group of individuals training for a not so legal action in Mn. 4. San Quentin/Folsom - prison fire-jumpers. 5. In Mississippi in the 60's - the fact that he was not in the prison he was supposed to be in - and was seen by a family member in Miami..he gets an early release from that prison and disappeared with a new identification from 1962 until 1968. AND other unusual involvement during this same period. This involvement may be the reason the FBI has never found Cooper...? 6. His involvement with individuals who had private planes - before and after. 7. The fact that he is in NY in Jan of 1972 - purchases two new cars and sends his wife to CA. and pays for all of the moving expenses...when he has made virtually no money in 1971. 8. He matches the Revised FBI composite and the extra composite done by TV for Shaffner. 9. He made trips to Wa. alone when married to the prior wife. 10. He had contacts in WA. and one of these was an individual who was stationed there in 71. Plus, how and why did he know the area to the extent that he did not look at a map the whole time we were in WA. and OR.

I told the FBI, Himmelsbach. As time goes on more and more is slipping away. This is one of the reasons I am here - to NOW tell everything I can remember. I have told this story before - if not here then to anyone who would listen. I even called Fort Benning - I have to go back to that record before I tell you what happened with that call. I am trying to remember exactly what we did in Columbus - I thought we were on the East side of the river. I guess I need to go up there and see if I can get the feel of it. I am also trying to put this trip in the right time frame - had to be between 1980 and 1989. I wil try to take myself back in time and give you a more accurate date. I know that on that same day - we went to an old ghost town - all of the buildings had old furniture in them. He was going to go into one of the shops to see an old friend...but he asked me to stay in the car. He was taking a long time and I went in. I simply told him I was getting bored in the car and that I needed to use the ladies room. I was told were the facility was and then wandered around the back making sure I stayed out of hearing range. Duane was annoyed that I came in. He made a brief introduction to the man - one word for the name no last name. They were having a very serious talk and keeping it low. I want to say that the first name of the man was something like Sarge or Cap (in that category). If you are familiar with that area - help me out here. The letter is dated April 15, 1943 - SO this does make some sense. In this letter he states " glad you received papers, I tried to take out $10,000 in insurance but they would only allow me $8000 because of my $2000 Navy insurance. I also had my bonds signed over to you. The chemical end of it is just as good as anything else. Maybe I will get a chance to see John soon(his brother). He might get shipped to Camp Sibert Ala before he goes across." Duane has already been kicked out of the Navy and is going for the Army? - I do not see how he got into the Army at all? Also - please note this --- in the 80's we went to Al. and we had to go thru Columbus for something...Duane took a swing South on the Georgia side and I do not remember how far we went, but he made this statement which I have told about before... and what he told me didn't make sense and now with this it makes less sense. He showed me an area and pointed out a duplex - and said "That's were we used to live"...I do not know who he was referring to - supposedly one of his wives and nor do I know the time frame in his life he was referring to..none of the wives I have knowledge of ever lived in Columbus. After this he points to an area - and said "Over there is were we used to jump". I thought nothing of what he said about Jumping and only retorted that he was never in the army. His reply "Anyone can get into the army in war time" He immediately changed the subject and I did not ask anymore. Now I know he was in the army, but the thing that bugs me is that he said 'Over there is were we used to jump." This letter indicates he was in the army and is mailed from an army address but something he says on the end of the letter is ODD: "I only have one more week on detention and then I can go anywhere on the base. That sure will be a relief. I'm sure that boy will be a alright if you people use your head at Akron and keep his location a secret because this boy is making good and wants to keep right on." I don't understand the letter. He ends up in CA and on probation. In Jan of 1945 a letter is sent to his mother in Montobello, CA (do not have a clue WHY his family moved during that time) - from a probation Officer informing her that Duane has been arrested in Rockford, Ill and is being sent back to CA. Then he is sent to McNeil Prison in WA. I have always wondered WHY he would have been sent to a prison in WA. and not in CA.???? That arrangement sounds very ODD unless McNeil had some kind of program going on that might salvage this wayward young man. His parents were people who would have sought the best circumstances for him - but as we all know he continued in this life of crime and went to several prisons with the last one being Jefferson and his sentence was "commuted". A criminal who had already been in at least 6 prisons and several jails for a period of 17 yrs. is commuted) he never goes back to prison ) 3 wks before Martin Luther King is assassinated by an acquaintance James Earl Ray. There is just something wrong with this whole picture. I have not reveal this much detail about Duane's past - but NOW IS THE TIME to not hold anything back. If I am going to find any resolutions I need all the help I can get and that means putting it right front of all of you. His brother provide a color copy of the letter, but since they were sent to him by his sister she may not have sent the photo. The only photos are Navy taken right after basic. I do not know what happened to anything his sister had after her death. I expect most was destoyed - she was adamant that I leave the past in the past... and because of her health I did not ever press her. She turned it over to the brother - both are deceased now, but in 1996 when I contacted the FBI both were alive and in good health...the FBI never spoke to either of them about Duane. The brother had not seen Duane since the 50's when his mother died, but Duane and the sister kept in touch....and Duane went to visit her in Modesto - Oakdale (where the note was mailed to a Newspaper by Cooper or someone claiming to be him) is right there. I was told by a local WW11 vet that they did basic jump training in Jacksonville and R.I. just to be sure the yokel had the guts to do it and to see if they were airborne material. Supplement that with some sports training - perhaps conveniently forgetting to mention that you have prior military/smoke experience - disappear after 10 or 20 jumps or whatever it took to get to freefall and no-one will necessarily think of you after the fact...? I just spent the last few minutes doing an intense post and it just disappeared. I was telling things that I had tried to tell the FBI before and then POOF! it disappeared like the magic dragon. I thinkCkret needs to spend some time finding the CIGARETTE BUTTS and going to talk with the witnesses that are still alive. A step-daughter of Duane's told me when I called and her mother was not home "I know Duane was Cooper" .She also told me something else in that conversation. I informed the FBI of this, but they never did go back to see them. This young lady died a yr or so later and her mother died in 2006 - part of the truth died with them. This is not all that was in the post - but, POOF like the Magic Dragon - not only disappeared off the screen but from my mind. Maybe I can condition myself to tell it again - later. But you know sometimes LATER never comes. I do remember that most of it was about what the FBI is not doing - and their turning a deaf ear to my pleas to investigate Duane's back-ground more thoroughly including individuals I have named to them. The cigarettes - it is evident that the chain of custody on the evidence has been broken and that the tie may not be the original tie. They have not produced the cigarette butts nor the note from Oakdale. This AGENT has not responded to how much Duane's old photo's look like all of the composites....am I manufacturing photos? But he has time to talk about how Cooper did this or that. All of this is interesting, but I just want the truth before it is too late. I would go see the man who threatened me, and Florence, and Tina. Armed with all the photo's and composites. I would be curious as to why and man would threaten the wife of a friend who claimed he was Cooper - why it made him very nervous. Questions: The money is not delilvered in the manner in which Cooper demanded. He has to Jerry rig - what Tina saw may not have been how he jumped. It was my understanding that she went into the cockpit after that and remained there for the rest of the flight. The dummy pack if empty - note that I say if empty - he could have made a container out of that for part of the money. Did it have any loops or rings of some kind on it - he may have used those and cords from the other chute to secure it to himself and to close the container? The chute he cut up - was any of the hardware removed? Who packed that dummy X pack and why was it given to the FBI for the jump? Why was the X pack obtained from a certain location?I believe that someone has already said that the dummy was not packed by a jumper - So who packed it? A part-time worker, a volunteer, someone claiming they wanted experience working in this field, active or inactive service personel or was it someone known to the FBI and was this person investigated and do you have the name used by this person? Was this person maybe a woman? You can bet I have a reason for asking all these questions. I have been counseled not to post certain information in a forum - but, right now I don't give a XXXX. You post but have yet to say one thing about the prison photo and it's comparison to another composite. I have made pleas to the FBI about his prison experiences - obviously the FBI has never looked or they would have found the other things I found in his files such as any identifying marks, tattoos, scars,etc. not to mention the photo that I posted with a very specific expression - mentioned by the witnesses...they definitely mentioned it to the composite artist who did the redo of the composites. I have repeatedly over the yrs asked the FBI about his experiences in certain prisons -Duane had ranger training - it is up to the FBI to find where. The rigger? That's what I said. Did you see these pictures - a composite done by a TV program for Florence Shaffner and an old photo of Duane that I never posted? Take a look and tell me what you think. Forget the Widows peak as not one witness said there was a Widows peak. Remember that the TV programs put on what they want to and the one getting interviewed becomes exhausted and just wants to get it over with. Why did the rigger remove the D-rings?

The Shaffner Composite of 1988 - no description of Cooper ever mentioned a widows peak. From my own experience I know how the TV programs use what they want to use and the man doing the composite is probably not an FBI artist. We also need to remember that when Florence did the attached composite that several yrs had lapsed. The Ace Photo - I have been holding and waiting for just the right time. Since it is a prison photo this is not going to make the FBI look very good. Ignore the widows peak and remember that Duane has a prison hair-cut (very close with no sideburns). If you wish image a very small piece of duct tape rolled up and placed behind his ears - Ouch! NOW WHAT DO YOU HAVE? I have waited a LONG time to do this. I was unable to examine this sketch until the Mayfield issue came up ----I saw it right away and WAITED to see what would develop. Then came the NorthWest employee - who again had a close resemblance to Mayfield and the Shaffner composite - EXCEPT no other reports indicated a Widows Peak. The composite in the Avatra and pic of Duane - have already been run thru the Las Vegas ID program. Perhaps the FBI needs to re-examine their stand. The American public is not stupid, but them maybe I am. Consistently I have told the FBI what Doug Pasternak was told by the artist who did the FBI composite - I have been ignored. What that artisit told Doug and I blurted out before he could tell me is depicted in both this composite and the 1960 photo of Duane Weber.
