Duane told me about an area that you could see the lights from for a long ways. I think this is what he used to site his area. Also at the time of the jump the weather WAS not as bad as the media has made it sound. Weather toward the mountain and north of Portland was a different thing - when you got in closer Portland.

I am only going to address Mayfield this last time: Mayfield as an experience jumper called Himmelsbach to offer his assistance and expertise he was doing nothing else except trying to be a good citizen. He did not call to say he was not Cooper. I am going off line to make a very long post - I have been up all night going thru the notes I made yrs ago - I have not slept in 29 hours now. These notes I wrote about what Duane told me on that trip. I have not revisited them - they are points that he told me about - I am reversing them so the they will make sense to the forum as how he may have walked out. I do not know all the correct names or spellings of these places. But for a man who was only in McNeil in 1945 he sure knew alot about the area in 1979. By the way Ckret - I haven't found the mention yet of what the college student said - I was able to contact Mitchel a few yrs ago - it may come as a surprise, but at that time he was working for Boeing. His daughter was the one who contacted me and put me with her father. Since my research is so vast and over a 13 yr period - I remember something I said or read but cannot pinpoint it at this time. By the way when I contacted him I did not have the pictures that I now have, but the email is no longer valid. Saying things that you know I worked my heart out on and the disappointment I had and now two conflicting statements about the very thing that is my HEARTS DESIRE and the one thing you know that I have prayed for - that she would talk to me face to face in private. GUYS? Is it my imagination or did he make two different statements about the same thing?

You said earlier that she wasn't cooperative. If she is now talking to people maybe she will talk to me. Her phone call to me yrs ago was terse and she did not want to talk about the incident. I respected her wishes. She could help me very much - it has been my only desire - for her to view the photos that I have (some of which the public had never seen). If she had talked to me a few yrs ago - I might not be where I am now with my health and my life might not have been turned upside-down. I find it hard to believe that she has changed.

Just what do you think they got Duane's DNA from? - the FBI never told me what items they used to extract DNA - a few guys tried on those gloves at a garage sale, the tools were used by many, the metal of an old bridge had been washed and rinsed by me and put with our old gold and silver, the shaver had been cleaned by me and used by me and a friend of mine, the pipe had been in my mouth and the mouth of that same friend and a couple of people who viewed his collection besides Duane - there should have been 5 sets of DNA on that pipe (those pipes might be the only things that may have held his DNA as I was reluctant to let them go...but a few people did look at them and hold them in their mouth.) This is only a short rundown - and until the FBI informs me as to what items they extracted the same DNA from to decide what Duane's DNA was - I don't know that they have isolated his DNA. Remember I didn't understand what he had told me until 14 months later and I had cleaned and given things away. I sold things. I had a life and that included a couple of gentlemen friends. Yet, the FBI never asked me any questions about who else may have used the items. I would have been nice if the FBI had informed me more than 24 before going public with their claim about the DNA. The old envelopes - we did not know if Duane sealed them or if someone from the prison did so. If DNA from one of those envelopes matched the DNA on the other items that could be conclusive. NOW I HAVE HAD TO DIVULGE MY PRIVATE LIFE TO DEFEND MYSELF, BUT AT THIS STAGE OF THE GAME WHO GIVES A HOOT.

I did tell the FBI more than once - the FBI just told me to call the local sheriffs Dept. I had not gone public at that time. JUST WHAT THE XXXX do YOU THING the Locals Could have done. THe individual threatening me did not live in this area! Only my friends, a private detective and relatives knew anything about what was going on. THis is the kind of thing Catcher put me thru before and I see that there are over 41 posts to go thru . I know that Tina looked back and the way it is pictured in a drawing it seems impossible and I would think so also..but, if he wasn't tell the biggest whopper on earth when he was dying - he got out with about 27K. Remember not one person knows what was under that jacket and the FBI never mentions the raincoat. If a man wore a TOOL BELT around his waist - how would that hinder someone wearing a parachute and would it have made it possible for him to tie a smaller package like the dummy filled with part of the money closer to him with out getting in the way of the chute. Or for that matter would a small brief case of the the 70;s fit inside of the dummy? If Duane wasn't tell the biggest whopper anyone ever told a wife on his deathbed - then he did not get out with all of the money - only about 27K. Would 27K in twenties fit into the dummy or the briefcase and could it have been secured to his midsection without hindering the chute??? I believe I told this before. Duane was never without - Black Rubbers that went over his shoes and snapped at the ankle. He kept a pair in the car (heavy rubber) and in the pocket of his raincoat (this pair was lighter in weight). Would this not have allowed the shoes stay on? Also the Mitchel the boy sitting across from him - said there was something sticking out from under his pants - jumpsuit? Long underwear? Question? In pictures I have seen - some of the jumpsuits have a strap going under the shoe - what is that for? Mouse was stoned out of his head - he sat talking to the wallpaper - constantly taking his shoes off and on - and telling the animals on the wall how cold his feet were.

To ALL: I did not know anything about Duane's past - The Horrible things you all are saying are nasty and rude. I have had two bad day and now I am crying so hard I cannot see the screen. I have not felt this kind of hurt in all of my life. This is the LAST thing I expected here. Stratostar was the one offended by my mouse - but it seems that everyone thinks I am some kind of kook or crazy person. I am not - I know what I know. It seems that since the FBI is in the thread that is all you want - he still gets his information messed up and gives answers to satisfy you, but he doesn't answer the most important questions. The chain of custody, the cigarette butts, O'hara, the hotel registration, the man who threatened me, the artist, the ex-wife, other people in Duane's life, his prison records, the fingerprints, Ross, and a huge list - fallure to investigate theses only leaves one to believe the FBI doesn't want to know or they already know --- so I guess the conspiracy really does exist. The world today doesn't allow us to just go out there and accuse someone of being involved in a crime or coverup (hence the reason I try not to say certain things). Most just want the legend to live on because without the legend or mystery then you guys have nothing to hash over about how he did this or that. I have had to stop a dozen times so far to gain my composure - but Carr, why haven't you shown the composites and the photos of Duane that match to the public. You keep showing that one old photo with his chin tucked in and the old Bing Crosby look-alike composite. You also keep telling the world that the DNA did not match without telling that the most conclusive evidence the Butts are lost. Why? Because to do so the FBI would have to admit that there was a possibility the evidence had been compromised and tampered with. This happened long before you got there, but it needs to be made public. If Mouse upset anyone - I am not sorry. Mouse headed for the hole. The growth made his trip difficult - there was the stream and the hole was not far. Oh no, the hole was barren! I told the agent about that tiny little piece of cloth in Duane's wallet which I thought was a blessed holy cloth. Wondered why Duane would have one of those - he wasn't into religion. Why did that agent tell me the chute was colored - remembered feeling disappointed? I thought maybe some one gave it to him - to keep him safe. So all we are going to talk about is the night of the jump and what is in the files? How are you going to solve a crime doing that? How is that going to help me prove or disprove anything about Duane? There is an individual who keeps telling me something else was left on the plane. Something to incriminate another individual? It was supposedly a Brigham Young pin with initials on the back. Since you can talk about what IS in the files - tell me about that....frankly I don't think this pin exists, but does it? Also in the files will be the hotel registration - don't tell me that it would have been looked at and then destroyed. It would not be professional to destroy possible evidence in such a high profile crime. All I want is a copy of that registration to compare against Duane's handwriting. You have been repeatedly asked by me and others: What happened to those cigarette butts? Whatever became of the chain of custody - sign in and sign out? Do a little investigating about that and you might find many questions answered. Has a certain agent called O'Hara ever accessed the files - and evidence? In fact with the Freedom of Information it is the opinion of many that the chain of custody on the files and the evidence should be made public. This would prevent anyone from tampering with evidence in old files. The new system prevents this from happening today - but, what about old files such as this one.? My Motto - Trust No One. There was Bob Huddleston - his friend Rizzo brought him to surface claiming he helped Bob spend his money. I contacted Rizzo after he went public - his story did not wash very well. I won't say anymore about what he and I discussed...but he is not claiming Huddleston was Cooper now is he? I received a communication from a Northern up-state attorney who had a client who claimed her husband was Cooper - did they ever contact the FBI? It was my understanding from him that he was going to advise the woman not to pursue the subject. Have you ever interviewed a woman who lives in WA. whose husband told her about a man walking down the highway the morning after the crime. She is still alive, but I don't know if he is. Her story was very viable, but not were the FBI was searching. You guessed it! --- In the area of question regarding Duane and later determined to be a probable area for Cooper to have landed - too late, Cooper was gone. In the files - is there not something about a boat reported missing from the Washougal area (a marina on the Columbia) a couple of days after the jump? It was assumed that teenagers had taken the boat - and released in front of the Portland Airport. As Duane said "The only way to get away with a crime is to go right back at them". Mouse scurried out of the woods trying not to spotted by a predator and found a tiny rail car - pump, pump - what a blast. - Oh Minnie are you still there.

No it was done without a jumper (I believe they used a sled) - the insurance company felt it too risky.

My questions are not about the Night Cooper jumped and you have not answered my questions or addressed the specific things I point out in this forum and have pointed out to the FBI since 1996. The most important question I presented to you was not answered - you badgered me - I told you I was not feeling well more than once in the phone call - you kept on about one subject you had NOT researched...if you had then you would have known I was right. I cannot be sure that Duane was one of the individuals who did this thing in Jefferson - but it DID OCCUR and YOU need know your facts before taking a stand. How many times do I have to ask about the hotel registration? I sent you an email the night clerk sent me from China - as that is were he is now. He has an ex-wife that stands by his story, when she has NO reason to do so - 36 yrs later. This is the one witness who sought me out who was not a fraud....what is the FBI doing waiting for him to die too? This case is 36 yrs old and I contacted the FBI in 1996 to be laughed at and ridiculed. The FBI sat on everything I told them and one by one individuals have died.

Talked about how to tie a package to one's self without fear of loosing it in "water"...he showed me a knot that would allow you to release the package so it would not pull you under and yet keep it close enough for maneuvering and that properly encased also lent itself as a buoy. 2. He was a master of knots. Close enough to hold, but able to release if necessary. He would have had another wrapper for the package (probably waterproof) fit easily in the briefcase. The briefcase -he would not leave it because of prints. A fact that may substantiate the other unusual clip in his belongings - remember that I describe two items. 3. How he exited the plane? Experiments with the Boeing (which Duane was aware of - remember Duane's brother was a consultant for the army for Boeing) was to back down the aftstairs to the very end and to drop off. Packages were dropped in this manner - they were not pitched out but slid down the aftstairs and then release. The other reason doesn;t count it was just a dream. 4. Packing a lot in small packages - I am sure he utilized all available. He would have quessed they might not deliver the package as requested.He would have utilized that dummy pack for parts or had clips with him or removed them from the other chute to secure it to himself. The money he pulled out to give Tina - he would have stuffed in his pockets and would have stuffed other pockets also...hence why some of the money was found if he did not put it there himself in 1979. 5. There were two different types of container after he died. One I still have - is a flat dark tan heavy bag about 12 x 9 with a spring like closure - what I thought to be used by a clerk to take money to a bank from a business. The other one was a small canvas bag with a handle and could be collapsed to almost nothing (had leather straps for attaching to something else...A very sturdy bag.)I mentioned these to the FBI yrs ago. Both bags would have fit inside of the briefcase behind the upper flap and would not have been seen. 6. I have asked the FBI if they had the cords that were cut - if so I have the knife that would have been use. Can't they match cut ends of cords with the knife that cut them? Sorry about having to be redundant. P.S. sometimes they stuff the dummy chutes with anthing they have around - like unrepairable chutes. Wonder what Cossey packed in that dummy?

NOTE: By the WAY when the FBI posts such things as ruling out Duane Weber due to DNA in their web site and not stating that they only found particial DNA and multiple DNA on the tie - Wouldn't it be fair to state that you LOST evidence. But then you don't want the public to know that.
