I usually jump at the parachute center in lodi, and wanted to take a friend up for a tandem while I was visiting her in vegas, and I wanted to do a couple of fun jumps myself. Skydive Mesquite is the ONLY DZ near las vegas that allows fun jumpers, and also appears to be the only one that will actually take you to 13,000ft for your jump. The staff was very friendly, and Brad got me on a load within a couple of minutes and I got 3 jumps in that day. My friend was extremely happy with her tandem experience as well. Simon, their rigger and one of their TIs, is awesome. If you ever need rigging services and you're in the las vegas area go look him up!
the only issue I had was that the packing area was too small for the number of up jumpers there... had to wait for others to finish packing so that I could start. That said, I will never skydive anywhere else near las vegas, it's mesquite or nothing!
