  1. yes i understand the concern, my home DZ is small, im often doing the screaming :0 but im still going to listen to music. infact, ill probably pick the best 60 seconds of music i can find and edit it so the entire track is only a minute. regardless, its pretty cool i hear..
  2. this is stupid to argue about. if people want to use noise canceling headphones while skydiving, they are going to. its either music, or the sound of air passing by. i dont blame the guys using "shure" and i dont think its a big deal to listen to music during freefall, its not like you can hear anyone screaming at you anyways. and as far as repeating threads, who cares.. its a forum, its going to happen. id like to listen to music during freefall, itd be like being in my own music video :D i believe i dont have the skills yet to do so but as soon as i do i will be investing in these noise canceling headphones as well as a small ipod. seems like an awesome idea, once under canopy, id probably pop 1 ear, or both out depending on the ammount of traffic. music isn't anything to worry about as long as the jumpers know what they are doing and pays attention. i've seen quite a few guys jump with music, and i plan to once i get an appropriate ammount of skill level.
  3. well if you got money in the bank, start a company revolutionize the sport...again take over the market
  4. Anybody know of anything new coming out soon? new containers or canopies ?? I've never seen anyone wearing an altitrack, is there a bias?
  5. So, You just won the lottery...What "Dream" rig are you going to make a reality? (if it isn't a reality already :D) im interested in what your thinking, from size to color, from custom parts, to the custom logo your gonna put on it. let your mind run loose!
  6. how do i go about demoing a canopy? the dropzone ive been going too likes icarus, and i asked one guy about the pilot (which from my research sounds like a kick-ass canopy for me) and he said the pilot has bad flare and some other skydiver lingo i've yet to learn. now lets say i purchase a rig made for a 170, in order to downsize i need a new container right? one that is specifically made for that size? is that correct? is a wingloading of 1:1 good? i was gonna aim for that to downsize to, id like to get to the point where im fine with a certain size and just keep that size for a while...everyone says im just gonna wanna keep downsizing. are smaller canopies safer? i see the videos of my coach's opening which seem very quick but yet soft (they seem) his risers also come down very fast, where as my openings (rental gear) it seems to take longer for the risers to come down, and when the risers come down, they come down over my head, which apparently is bad.. haha im just hear to sponge up information. ive read the reviews on the gear section but id rather talk to people. :)
  7. im curious as to the opinions people have formed regarding the canopies they own. how consistent is the canopy you fly and what size? im currently at a 190 and as soon as i downsize some more ill be in the market for a rig. i think ill buy new.. i know everything is pretty good these days but i want experienced opinions. thanks
  8. fuck i need a job .. where does your skydiving cash come from

  13. no im talking about having other people manage it
  14. do you know where i can find information? is there anyone that owns a dropzone firm or soemthing, im going to do it..
  15. ive got my own personal DZ heh, Dream zone... and i was thinking how wouldi go about making my own dropzone? what does it take to get some airspace changed? my spot launched balloons already and is vfr to 6800 then its class bravo i believe.. its very open and good location, so basically if money wasnt the issue.. how would i do it?
  16. the wind was still that day..but anyways, can someone explain to me the "bad spot" because personally i like jumping out over the lake...
  17. my reply to you is, well now heres another thread on this very subject, maybe it will remain in your heads. the next thing i have to say is, if you want the spot, just ask. the day i jumped was calm and blue skies, maybe they just needed there fix, but i needed my time.
  18. the person infront of me exited and i found my place in the door, i was trying to give him a good 10-15 seconds, after not waiting long enough on the prior jump, i came close and always wanted to be safe as possible. anyways i was met with someone behind me yelling at me to go, at around 8 seconds and i didnt feel comfortable, so i guess all im trying to say is be nice to nublets
  19. its 12 above the L's possibly t-12. He says thanks for everyones imput, its gonna help him on the road to recovery. thanks -J and B
  20. Im sure this has been brought up but here it goes again, my friend who envy's my skydiving recently broke his back in a motorcycle accident. P12, L1, L2, and L4. Anyways hes getting like 7 figures as a settlement check (works for him) and he wants to know if anyone thinks he will be able to skydive. Sure i can understand a hard-opening being very threatening to his back, but maybe theres a shot? does anyone have any back problems?
