  1. because people like JACK DOFFDONNER out there will just slam you and make fun of you even though they might have some similar feelings---just so they can look cool and say whatever they have to say that's popular and do what everybody else does and says. we do live in a phony populist P C SOCIETY DONT WE. JUST SAY ALL THE RIGHT THINGS AND NOBODY WILL THINK YOUR WEIRD. (EVEN IF YOU B A S E).. HEY JACK DOFFDONNER I'M NOT ATTACKING YOU JUST WHAT YOU SAID AND HOW YOU SAID IT. i know alot of people goof on this sight=this is not of goof. and again thanks for all the PMs. i'll keep them all to myself== HUH??!! Jack Doffdonner PC? Popular? Do what everybody else does and says???!! Not weird??? Now that's pretty funny! You're so mean for attacking me! I'm gonna go slit my wrists. (Dude, serioulsy though, if you really are that is. Don't kill yourself!) Or I'll kill you!
  2. Nice use of CAPITOLS! Does that mean that you are yelling? This guy's full of shit. Pretty obvious. Kinda like some other idiots I know around here. Hey Jay, how about detaching your 3 rings so your rig looks all nicely packed and ready to go? That aughtta make a big impact! Make sure you pull high! $50 bucks says I get banned again on my first post back!
  3. Good point. I'll stop taking guesses on June 30th. That gives everyone 1/2 the year to guess. Each user name only gets one guess. If you want better chances then log in as a different person and guess another number as many times as you want. Like a bunch of people already have done. So Tom, I noticed you deleted our correspondence about login names in this thread. Does that mean that you now have figured out who 914 is? It must be pretty obvious who I am by now huh?
  4. What if you did B, A, S and E all unpacked? some would say that you are simply a paraglider.
  5. Sorry ronkvic, 737 is also taken by ojlawrence. And fastpete, 901 is taken by 87SupraT. You guys have to choose again.
  6. Oh great. Are we gonna go throught that old "unpacked jumps are not really base jumps" debate again? Whatever, I don't care who says it has to be packed up and closed inside friggen container, direct bag, garbage bag or a coffin. You're using base gear and stepping off of a fixed object. Its the sport of base jumping no matter how technically anal you want to get. Miles has 254 BASE JUMPS this year.
  7. Miles' is at 244 base jumps total for the year 2006. That's an average of exactly 2/day. Just thought I'd remind you all. Hmmmm.......wonder who's gonna win that vintage Vision container.........
  8. Holy Deja Vu! I could swear I've seen both those jumps from the same angle before! Somebody has been studying the movie "Yearbook" very closely haven't they! Nice Job Stephan! You and Matt ever hook up?
  9. Then we should also have a seperate forum called "people who post friggen novels every time" like JaapSuter usually does. That would be neato.
  10. .......instead of the NFS that we could communicate like this with. This is an email I got from one of the Forest Service law enforcement officers who came out to greet us. Hope she doesn't mind that I posted her email here since I didn't ask her. ........ I enjoyed the day immensely. Glad it worked out for everybody. You have a great Mom ... she probable has died a thousand deaths raising you and enjoyed it all. Some District folks and Fish & Game watched for awhile on Monday. I was going to watch but I needed my day off after slushing around in the snow. A photo of someone with a red chute is floating about our e-mails now. I hope the Forest Service doesn't ever make it illegal to base jump off cliff's. I understand your concern of how some folks view your sport. Some of the Forest Service personal do not think sno-basing should be allowed, because it sounds so radical. I'd rather die happy than live a boring safe life, so I will continue to support you all. I passed your E-mail forward to the folks who were involved. Mostly we get hate mail so the thank you's are well received!
  11. I thought you were supposed to call Miles seeing as it is his bridge. JT apparently signed over the title to him and now you can get your permission slips from Miles. (208) TOP-RAIL
  12. Right on Chris. As well as could mine seeing as I have 0 snowboard base jumps. Its all theory at this point. You have a point about the goofy thing. I take back my idea on that one.
  13. Last weekend's APOOOPA event confirmed some theories I've had for a few years now. I wanted to send this out there so those of you thinking about trying it have thought it through and are prepared. I have nothing against snowboarding and actually do it several times a year. These are just my observations as it relates to base. Snowboard base jumps are more dangerous than ski base jumps. Extra precaution needs to be taken when trying them. We saw a lot of jumps last weekend and most of the scary looking ones were snowboarders. One major line twist situation was a skier but for the most part it was the snowboard jumps that were gnarly. Nothing bad happened and all of them corrected any problems very well and quickly but there was potential. The sideways stance naturally puts the jumper in a more difficult position to maintain stability. Also it is theoretically more dangerous to be right foot forward (Goofy) since most pilot chutes are thrown out on the right side. The wind on the board affects the jumpers stability very quickly and can throw them off balance almost immediatly. Its much harder to kick out of line twists when you can't kick your legs independently. Unless you are an expert snowboarder it is a bit harder to carry decent speed off the jump which will get you further away from the wall. Most of these instability problems resulted in either off heading openings or line twists and in a couple cases both. When someone with extra weight on their feet deploys in an unstable position slider down there is a very high chance of getting whipped into line twists. I believe that the best way to prevent these malfunctions doing a snowboard base jump is to go slider up. The slower opening won't whip you into line twists. This of course will require a larger cliff sometiimes. If you are considering this you also better dam well be an expert snowboarder who has spent time in the terrain park. Oh, on the other hand, Jim Rippy showed up at 6:00 pm to do his very first snowboard base jump. He threw a "Rippy Flip" I think its a corked back flip with a tail grab and a 360. He pitched after completion of the trick and then his spinning momentum carried him into another 360 before his pins popped making the trick a 720. He had a perfect on heading slider up opening. Totally schooling everyone else and by far doing the coolest trick of the day.

Gee this sure is fun kiddies! Temper, temper Jaap! Now, you all are welcome to stand behind Tom. The majority of people do. That has never made it right though. Perceived well doers are not always good people. Tom is a wealth of knowledge in this sport and he has helped out more people than most. In many ways he is a good person. On the other hand he has taken it upon himself to police the base world and use this site to rally supporters behind him to great success. He has provoked much needless, childish banter and has been the driving force behind many personal attacks and threats of physical violence. Several issues that he has policed have actually never really been an issue until he has decided to make a big stink about it here and gather support. (No I'm not going to give examples. That will just get us all going into another big hissy about old issues) Some of you accuse us of unprovoked attacks on Tom. Now that is funny! Unprovoked?!! It may seem that way to you but boy are you ever wrong about that. I will give you this. Posting here and lighting fires in people's asses about issues that don't concern everybody else is childish. I wish that original post that started this thread was not made but I stand behind him anyway. Concerning that proof that you guys so desperately want. Show me 100%, beyond any shadow of a doubt proof that someone like Miles D is damaging to our sport and I'll show you 100% proof that Tom A. narked on the APOOOPA event. Before you start laying in to people because of what you hear about them on this forum think twice. Meet them in person first. As we all say every time these types of issues pop up, actions speak louder than words. And in the case of the APOOOPA event it was an action which spoke to the forest service.
