  1. A couple of other thoughts: I'd like to see the educational posts of this thread separated and moved out of TalkBack. Second, if I am the first person to cutaway, knowing I share the same air column as the other jumper, I am gonna do my best to get horizontal and vertical separation with a subterminal track and/or sucking it down to the bargain basement (at least in this case) before I pop the reserve. Any reasons I shouldn't be thinking this way? mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  2. Watching that, I am delighted to hear you are still both alive. I love walking on topskins and toe-dragging endcell to endcell, but I only will do it if it's part of the plan and the other jumper is basically flying hands-off. So, this video really has me thinking. Canopy size/shape and deep brakes issues aside, at what altitude were you when you attempted the dock? Looked like Brit's alti was reading 2k when she was under the reserve, and she didn't take that deep of a delay. I personally have hard and fast altitude cut-offs for both contact and no contact CRW. Just wondering if you do too. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  3. Sorry, but I had to say, I laughed out loud at this one, twice: Keep fighting the good fight. Someday, folks might actually open their minds and understand these concepts. I had an older, very experienced jumper give me a dirty look on the otter sunday when I mentioned that the 45 rule is bunk and that you can't judge separation by looking at the ground. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  4. That's just what they do so they can stay there longer. All they are there for is to mark time and make people feel comfortable that someone is doing something, when in fact, they aren't doing shit. Well, they did pass the McCain-Feingold act which stifles the First Amendment in order to retain power (god forbid the truth about some of these assfucks gets out). I lost my taste for politicians during the term limits debates a few years back. Unfortunately, all the good folks who supported term limits (very much in keeping with the intent of the Constitution and its framers) are now out, and the career politicians and criminals stayed. I especially love when they vote themselves raises when they can't pay a bit above the poverty level to people we expect to carry rifles in defense of our country. Disgustipating... mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.

  6. Just in case somebody else didn't post it yet, the entire bill is dead. Talk about political posturing... They frantically load this thing up with all sorts of amendments and then kill it 90-8. "Ooooooh, as your senator, I represented you and your interests!!!! (as well as the guy who wanted the opposite of what you want) Vote for meeee!!!!" Fuckers mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  7. Not extended just yet. There are still a few steps within Congress and the White House this bill must take. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  8. Either you are simply antigun or you are horribly misinformed. The guns we are talking about are used in less than 2% of all the crimes involving guns. Further, firearms are used in only 28% of all homocides, robberies and aggrivated assaults according to the fbi. Crimes committed with the types of guns branded as "assault weapons" have also not decreased in the 10 years of the ban! This solves nothing!!!! Go here and learn. Edit: For all the non-math types: so-called "assault weapons" are only used in one-half of one percent (0.56%) of homocides, robberies and aggrivated assaults. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  9. Never been to a gunshow huh? With this definition, we might as well go to either a regular gun store or a museum. This is the first step in eliminating private person-to-person transactions--and depending upon interpretations, it may do that already. Not a big deal you say? Probably not, if you don't think it's a big deal becoming a felon by giving your son his great grandpa's heirloom .22. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  10. I got a feeling this whole bill is now dead. Then again, I never thought the fucks in the Senate would have pulled this kind of shit knowing Bush said he would only sign a "clean bill." Maybe this is a litmus test for the real assault weapons ban vote in september. I know of at least one senator who will NOT have my vote in the next election. I will also try to persuade as many of his constituents not to vote for him as possible. I'll be advising him of that today. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  11. and the elimination of gunshows. http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/legislative/a_three_sections_with_teasers/votes.htm Outrageous! mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.

Yeah, I shot a few XM8 variants (and even got the hat) earlier this month. The XM8 is certainly a fine rifle, but I still like the M16/AR-15 platform. The sad part is that it may never too far off the ground if the 6.8 is adopted by the US military. Nonetheless, they are building a new factory to make them in Columbus, GA. HK did do a revamping of the stoner system which works very very well, Edit: link. All things considered tho, I am most impressed by HK's M16 magazines! HK has the best ones out there, bar none. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.

    gun choice

Oh yeah? Last September at the NRA National Police Shooting Championships, Jerry Miculek successively fired 10 S&W revolvers for a total of 60 shots in 17.12 seconds. He also shot five rounds from a five-shot revolver in 0.57 seconds. I've also watched Rob Leatham shoot a DA auto just as fast and accurately as his race 1911. The main drawback I see with a revolver and most DA (or "safe" action) autos is the weight of the DA trigger pull. On a revolver, at least, you can pull in the take-up, settle the sights and squeeze off the break in the trigger as accurately as a single action. Is this something you're gonna be doing in a firefight? Ummmm, prolly not. But, if you think you're gonna get off nice quick accurate shots with any type pistol while adrenaline is flying out your ass as you try to save your life, I got a bridge to sell you. At that point, point-shooting and muscle memory are the only things that matter. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.

I agree with ya on the 1911 and will always carry one because of my own personal preferences, but Glock-shmock! Buy an XD from Springfield Armory if you're thinking about a glock. I've shot every XD model and my opinion of each was that it beat any glock I have ever shot (not to mention the grip angle is not so freaking raked and uncomfortable--I want a point-shooter for self defense, not the feeling of a 10-meter gun). mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  15. Nope. Don't know the details, but it was just some pilot who needs more landing training. It's an airplane, not a basketball... mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  16. Wow! And I never knew why I couldn't get it up without a gun in my hand. Amazing--the things you learn in the columns... mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  17. Fuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!!! And all this time I thought I had a chance!!!! Damn, that's one lucky woman! mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  18. I dunno if you're watching the debates, but it's really disgusting to see these guys totally misrepresent this bill. Lautenburg told a blatant lie about a gun dealer a little while ago. Politicians suck ass. Well, I do like the distinguished Senator from Idaho. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  19. Ya know, after the $53 million judgement against Precision Aerodynamics just a few months ago, I am surprised as hell more folks in the skydiving community are not following this bill. Yes, it would prevent junk lawsuits against gun manufacturers, as have been filed (and subsequently dismissed in 98% of all cases) by the truckload around the country, but it reaches much farther than the gun industry. Lots of other industries which make lawful, yet easily misused products, are following it and rooting for its passage as it sets precedent. I guess nothing affects us as we are in our own little world. Oh wait, there is that $53 million that will put an end to one skydiving manufacturer should the as-yet-unfiled appeal fail. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.

  21. Found a link while researching in another thread. Does anybody know who the skydiver is at the top of this page? BTW, the website is pretty informative. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.

  23. Anybody else see the alzheimer's association ad on the right of the Hill article? A lady exiting an otter? check out where the link takes you. kinda interesting... mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  24. you two bastards are too fast! Sorry for my redundant items. I guess I am just a little slow... mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
  25. Ugh. We are talking about companies which manufacture legal products. Price is irrelevant. If it worked in the commission of a crime, it was a functional firearm and operated as designed and manufactured by the manufacturer. Did the manufacturer partake in the crime? Hell no. This is what the White House had to say about it today: mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
