  1. I'm aware that they make $ off the vendors, just not me... I have no problem with keeping my spending down on credit cards, and because I do use them so much, I've built myself a nice solid credit rating and was able to get a nice low interest rate on my car loan (which I'm paying more on monthly than need be as well). For a 22 year old, I can't say that I'm doing badly credit wise, and know that there is room for improvement as well. I also don't really like the idea of carrying around a lot of cash on me.
  2. Right now, I waitress so all my income is cash. My problem is that I tend to spend more when I have cash in my wallet, so I keep it at home and check my spending with my credit card. I use my credit cards for almost all my purchases, but pay them off in full at the end of every month. Since I get cash back on everything I spend, and never pay any interest fees, the credit company is actually paying me for using the card instead of the other way around. Getting a check in the mail from the credit company every couple of months is a nice thing
  3. I had gear before I got my A, but was jumping one of Sonic's canopies in my container with my reserve and stuff. Now I'm jumping all my stuff, with a Sabre2 170 in it. I tend to be able to jump more during the week lately due to my work schedule, so that's probably part of why we're missing each other. The weekends that I do go, I tend to stay over on the other side. I guess I'll see you soon, though.
  4. AHHHH, now I know who you are!!! I haven't seen you guys around there in a while, but maybe we're just missing each other or I'm spending too much time on the other side. It isn't Sonic you need to talk to for the shirts, its Donna... She's in charge of the clothing side of the store. I just got home from the Ranch, and since its after 1 AM, I think its time for me to go to sleep.
  5. Besides, I must be reasonably stable and not totally suck if you want me on your 100th... If I really did flail, wouldn't I just get in the way and be a danger to everyone else? I'm pretty sure you're just picking on me beause I'm easy to pick on. Its a good thing that I'm used to it by now Dave-- you know you're gonna have fun on the "other side" of the DZ once you graduate. You've already made some friends
  6. I don't really think I flail all that much... unless you were observing a pathetic attempt at sitflying, in which case I was a mess... sidenote- "flail" is a funny word I will do my best to be there on saturday, but as of right now, it looks like I will have to go to work (i know, gotta get my priorities straight)
  7. I know you were just kidding, and I've found I'm pretty easy to pick on. It's a good thing that I don't take stuff personally (unless its a direct personal attack)
  8. NEVER!!! Pete may be evil, but I would never wish any harm to come to him Maybe one of these days I'll actually see you at the DZ again. Just a warning, I sometimes wander around with my head up my ass, so don't be offended if I walk right past you and forget to say I, I'm just retarded like that...
  9. I try to catch the railing or something before tumbling back down. None of my stair problems were as big of an issue when I was a kid and the stairs were carpet, but now they are oak, and that hurts a whole lot more.
  10. I don't tend to go through glass sliders... its the solid wood ones that I seem to aim for Your door incident reminds me of a child I saw at the day camp I used to work at. There are two ice rinks at the facility, where I teach, and the camp kids use the ice during the summer. This little kid, probably around 5, went running full speed from across the lobby into the out door of the rink. The kid smacked into the metal door so hard he dropped straight to the floor and was pretty much out cold. I felt bad for him, but it was hard not to laugh. Just last week I walked into my bedroom door, then proceeded to fall down my entire flight of stairs (except for the very first step) onto the tile floor below. I went pretty much headfirst, with my arms on the side that has no railing. Needless to say, it was a BAD morning, but I blame the entire stairs incident on the stupid slippers I was wearing. If I were barefoot like normal, I would have been ok. Falling up the stairs is rather easy actually, at least for me... miss a step on the way up, and I pretty much end up falling forwards, still in the general up direction. Usually amounts to a few bruises and the occasional hurt toe. Still makes a loud noise, but those who know me have started to ignore the loud crashing sounds when I'm home.
  11. I've walked into doors I've opened, too. I've also been known to forget to open the door and try to walk through it closed
  12. I haven't really done anything to cause major injuries for the past few years, but I will walk into any wall that happens to be there, more than once, I walk into a table at least once a shift at work when I waitress, fall down my stairs on a monthly basis, and fall up my stairs on a weekly basis. Whenever I see a new bruise, I assume that it is self-inflicted. I managed to break my arm standing still on the grass in roller blades, and gave myself a severe cuncussion figure skating... Oh yes, and none of my friends will walk on my right side because I tend to drift that way when I walk
  13. I DIDN'T ALMOST KILL HIM!!! LIES I TELL YOU, LIES!!!
  14. Pete is truly a unique individual, but I'm glad I had him as an instructor. Letting him find out I'm ticklish, on the other hand, was not something I'm terribly glad about Pete-isms are just that-- having them come out of any one else's mouth just doesn't have the same effect, but yes, "Don't Fuck Up" is good to keep in mind...
  15. I'm surprised that they let you jump in those kind of conditions- I've been grounded there several times for wind, and have been told to come down with the plane after take-off because the wind started to gust pretty strong. There have been plenty of days that I was there and students were put on a wind hold, at which times I reconsider jumping as well, because for all intensive purposes, I'm still a student. I'm guessing you were sent to 6-stripe... has it been cut it yet? When I landed there last week some spots were thigh-high, which made walking out a bit of a pain in the ass.
  16. Wouldn't you rather have the hot topless chick closer to you on the creepers? You wouldn't be able to see much if she's all the up on the zam
  17. sounds like a plan... im down for the cause
  18. I've been up close and personal with Zam's and some really sweet Olympia's too- guess thats what you get when you are a figure skater/coach... It's fun to hang on while they're driving around and just go for a ride. They let people who JUST got their driver's license drive them at my rink- maybe thats why they hit a cement pole outside when they were dumping snow
  19. I'm far from experienced, but once you get your A, use newbies do have to jump together. PM sent.
  20. I'm not certain I will be up this weekend. I'd like to go up Saturday, but work may have to come first this weekend. I've got a stupid meeting at my restaurant in the morning, and then I have to be back there by 4:45 for actual work.
  21. Hiya Dave! Who'd you go up on your T3 with? I was at the Ranch all day Saturday and half of Sunday jumping my ass off so I could finally get my A. Do you happen to know who is going to be doing your FJC on Saturday? Anyway, being a new graduate from the Ranch, I'll probably be around on the student side every now and then, since that is where I know people right now. I'm sure I'll see you around. Good Luck!!! Ginger
  22. I was jumping out of Otters and Porters for all my early jumps, so there wasn't really that much sitting. I'm also short enough to be able to stand pretty well in the door, especially in the Otter. I was just a little worried about being really unstable on exit I think. In the poised exits, I KNEW I was going to be presenting to the relative wind, and that wasn't necessarily the case in the diving exits, so it kind-of freaked me out. After having some free-fall stability issues in a couple of jumps, I wanted to be as stable as possible when I left the plane. All in all, it was just me being silly and not letting go of what I had grown to be accustomed with. I got over it, and now I've finally got my A license. I don't think that would have ever happened if I didn't let go of my "issues" in the last few jumps- Jumping 8 times in 2 days does wonders to build up some confidence.
  23. Mine too, now Just had to get over doing something that I'd never done, and now I love them. I almost feel silly for not doing them a couple times since they really are MUCH MUCH MUCH better...
  24. I'm still a newbie too, but I do it simply because I love it. I really is my "Control Alt Delete" reset mechanism. Normally at this point in a semester (right before finals) I'm pretty close to a nervous breakdown with all the stress. I was planning for it this semester too, since I'm graduating in a couple weeks, but it hasn't been there. I've been very relaxed with everything in my life really, since I started. A HUGE plus for me- my migraines essentially disappeared. I used to get pretty rough ones at least bi-weekly, minor ones every few days, but since I started skydiving, I can very happily say that I haven't gotten a single one.
