  2. Hey guys, I saw your thread and thought you might be interested in this. We just shot this one a month or so ago. All photo images are from the A7R. Video is on the Red Epic http://www.sonystyle.com.cn/products/tvc/ds.htm#p=22 Slow website and some smart phones and web browsers wont view it. Firefox seems to play it well though Rob Don't let your perceived ability override your actual ability www.vortextv.com.au
  3. Yep, I'm all over the the EF to M converter. I have some great canon lenses I dont want to put on the shelf. Just want "Spray and Pray" remote shutter and I'm sold. Rob Don't let your perceived ability override your actual ability www.vortextv.com.au
  4. Just looking for something lighter and that i can fit every Canon lens I have to it. Rob Don't let your perceived ability override your actual ability www.vortextv.com.au
  5. Anyone got more to add for this? I was going to get an EOS M and wire a tongue switch to the IR remote. Bit of 100mph tape or a neoprene cover and away you go. Now that I know it wont take images in "Spray and Pray" mode it's not that appealing to me. Although I was brought up on 35mm and to choose your shots, there are times when continuous mode is warranted. So, has a fix been developed? 6. I had an e-mail conversation with the guys at cookie about batteries and space for the HC5 box. They asked if I had the measurements of the other batteries. After about 30min of surfing I managed to pass onto them all the stats for ALL the types of batteries. They have the info now, it's up to them if they decide to use it to compensate for bigger batteries box's. I hope they do. 7. Tic Tic Tic went the Hand Scam Bomb. How about you think of the passenger and let them have the best possible view of their jump from an outside camera flyer and not a vignette cropped wide angle view you Hand Scammers give. For all with an OPEN mind and not a monetary one go to www.stuntquest.com and have a look at the Hand Cam page. Rob Don't let your perceived ability override your actual ability www.vortextv.com.au
  8. I have a camdom from competition helmets for my old 300d and am using it on my 350d. i believe the 400d is the same size as the 350d. it's not a snug fit but it does fit. you should persist with contacting them as their product is good. i will have a chat to their boss stitcher now and let them know about contact difficulties. 9. I am using a powerbook, an e-mac and an i-book and all run quite well with imovie. when I use final cut pro and final cut express I only use my power book and e-mac. Rob Don't let your perceived ability override your actual ability www.vortextv.com.au
  10. Ahh going the PC filth option. iMovie is a program that when the user puts all the transitions into the production it can look like a school project. just because they are there does not mean you have to use them. Before you go PC and have a melt down because of the blue screen, frozen screens and having to down load all the codecs think outside the box and look at Final Cut Pro. In the end though, you are still loading dv, you are still cutting the images and video, you are still loading audio and you are still exporting. at the end of the day, although not high end iMovie reflects the tallent of the user. So, don't fork out cash when you have it all in front of you. As a great man once said to me "Price, Quality, Speed pick any two". I still use Final Cut Pro for my projects and iMovie for quick edits. Rob Don't let your perceived ability override your actual ability www.vortextv.com.au
  11. I will give you a tip, Leave the camera work to the outside camera flyers and the tandem stuff to the tandem masters. I am pretty sure there are other things you should be thinking about at deployment height with your left hand other than trying to film the sun (as most hand scammers do). Ok, the gates are open, everyone now get emotional on what i said.. Rob www.stuntquest.com Rob Don't let your perceived ability override your actual ability www.vortextv.com.au

  13. Hey, Being from the southern parts of Australia, we are used to punching cloud. With that we all know how much our camera gear loves moisture. Have a look at this site for ideas. www.competitionhelmets.com remember your rebel XT is the same as our 350D (I think) Rob www.stuntquest.com Rob Don't let your perceived ability override your actual ability www.vortextv.com.au
  14. Hey, I jump with a 4 way and a 2 way team in Australia and I find that my smaller Lightning 126 is the best for both. The 4 way roto's sink once together and there for you need to keep up. Having trim tabs is a help here as you can set and forget (until landing that is). Trim tabs are also good when jumping from 14k as that is a long time to be on risers. When filming 2 way I dont use the trim tabs. These formations change direction and speed all the time so i just go with the flow. http://www.skydiveradio.com/pic_of_week/POTW18.jpg I have never been a fan of jumping my free fall canopy for filming CReW as I hate that side to side look when you find the formations are going slow and floating. Also the opening time is longer and the guys pay for my time not me struggling to get back up/waiting for them to sink down. But on the upside, the landings are nicer. With 4 way i use a .5 lens and sit in a spot where even a blind JUDGE can see the grips (judges need all the help they can get) and with the 2 way I take the wide angle off. There are some CReW pictures on my web page if you want to look www.stuntquest.com Rob Rob Don't let your perceived ability override your actual ability www.vortextv.com.au
