I agree with your SL decision of this object given the current conditions. As Mike (if Mike is who I think) and Adam well know I have a pretty busted up leg, still not walking right, off a similar elevation object.

I always wanted to freefall this object till I saw the outcome of your last jump. That said, under the proper winds, there is an big open field to land in so it wouldn't be a problem at all.

Hope you're healing well buddy. I can't make March but maybe sometime in late April? I'll be in touch with you and vince

  2. for yourself or someone else? I check my 3 rings, cable routing, velcro/pin tension, chest and leg straps are tight and routed correctly. I also keep my PC stowed until I'm geared up, then take it out for handheld or staticline (that way I know i couldn't have wrapped my bridle around a legstrap or something). Also I check my bridle routing about half a dozen times prior to exit.

I ask people if they checked their 3rings and visually check for twists in their harness and proper leg & chest strap routing. I always check their bridle routing as I've yet to have someone to tell me to fuckoff while doing so. I'll ask how they feel or if they want checked their pins too.

If I swapped a PC or something I double check for symmetrical attachment at exit (or prior to climb) as well.

...but if you've taken a FJC, or even groundcrewed a few times, you should already know this.

that depends on how much you care about your sterilty/fertility.

It's probably for the best most of us don't procreate anyway...

  4. I use velocity gear too. All I've been finding is now that it's winter the fit is tighter with my rig, armor, and winter jacket/sweaters. Arm movement isn't really restricted much but I am thinking about cutting off the shoulder cups for a better fit.

For most jumps I detach the spinal protector and go with just that. It fits well and the only issue I've had with it is fitting my fat ass under fences or up tight ladders with it on.

I was impressed with the armor for the cost.

    Ya, Like what?

I doubt you could comprehend. Besides, you've already decided it's a bunch of preplanned X's and O's anyway.

I'm not quite sure what the O.C fan club is .....However I would expect that it refers to (once again) some kind of useless spectator sport that you Arctic-folk have chosen to engage in (polar bear mating maybe???).

Polar bear mating is so 2004. Now we poke em with hot iron, hop on their backs, and try to hold on for 8 seconds while they try to stomp and eat you. That's far more intelligent and entertaining.

...you have the original sense to jump put of planes...

We can't jump "put" of many planes anymore. The polar bears ate them. Something about them being grumpy from the lack of sunlight

I must go now, I have things to follow

Am I the only one out there who could not give a shit less about American football?

No, but I think most of them are in the OC fanclub.

This is not a sport, it's a commercial franchise system that seems to garner $$$ solely from it's perceived commercial worth.

But it IS a sport AND a business. Just like any other professional sport. Deal with it.

I'm not american and I think it's a great game. There is far more to football then you'd think

... i dont like velcro man. at all. it has no place in parachutes i think. granted, its on my tailpocket and toggles... but shit, if magnets are really heavy.

Velcro has saved my life many times, very consistently, and I wouldn't want magnets taking it's place. . .

Velcro had its place in the 80's, and still does today IMO

don't let people talking down to you stop you from asking questions here.

Right on! If you've searched something out and can't find an answer and can't reach/don't know a experenced BASE jumper to ask (or would like other opinions), ask away. If a few kids flame you over it, ignore them.

And right on ya for practicing your skills on a 7cell and trying to learn some rigging info. It will make you a better canopy pilot regardless of what avenue you take. Good luck.

    My Dell (FUCK Dell!) died.

I saw how Apple is prepping to release an updated version of OS X, "Leopard."

Anyone know when the new OS is due out? I don't want to get it and have to immediately turn around an upgrade the OS...

Also, is MS Office for Mac a good option for school? (am in Law School)

    Thx

Updating your OS won't be much of an issue when the time comes. Get a MacBook, you'll never go back to a Windows PC again. (I just bought my macbook in sept, 1st ever mac, and love it)

MS Office for Mac works great. I've had no issues with Word or Powerpoint when giving presentations

From what I read he did everything right! Sometimes just bad luck is to blame such as in this case.

That's my impression too. Too bad doode, if you were to have jumped maybe 30 seconds earlier you might not have been spotted...
